Yeah, Mike Rego talks about oil being in the Jurassic, at 6m 11s on the video.

yes alot being covered, both the Ntorya (Cretaceous)up-dip and, what i think very interesting, the Likonde (Jarassic) up-dip play.

Blackgold00, or just up-dip. The 3d Seismic is covering a huge area, so a lot of up-dip area being covered.

well haggis, i have'nt disregarded the chance of finding the "elusive oil play", could it be in the jurassic ? stranger things have happened.

And of course there's this presentation from Mike Rego!

I've always said that 3D Seismic was needed to pinpoint oil. Here's why, and why ARA should be looking for oil and gas, not just gas.
.
“We’ve had a lot of success in East Africa in recent years but it’s all been gas. When it comes to looking for oil in coastal east Africa it’s been a failure,” Rego told oil and gas industry delegates in a presentation.
.
“The oil is out there, we just have to improve how we look for it,” he added.
.
Further supporting Rego’s views on East African oil plays, Solo Oil Chairman, Neil Ritson, commented on the potential of an onshore asset in Tanzania.
.
“Black oil was seen on the cuttings [at the NT-2 well in Tanzania] – now what we will make of that in the next few months to years, I don’t know,” Ritson said.
.
The Solo Oil Chairman said that the company would continue to consider the existence of an elusive oil play in the region and offered suggestions as to its possible characteristics.
.
“In my mind, it’s certainly not deep offshore, it’s a near shore and onshore play and we seem to be getting indications, both at Kiliwani North and Ntorya [Solo Oil interests located in Tanzania], that it is a real possibility that there is yet a play in there,” Ritson said.
.

.
And check out this:

Indeed, it does confirm than whenever Mr Market decide to start liking AEX again, a significant re-rating is available here; however, after so many horrendous years, it may take a while until AEX comes back on people's radar.

P.S.: I don't even want to check when was my first investment here as except a great well-timed short-term trade in early 2017, it has proved to be a very long and boring ride...

yes haggis, and i guess the Jarassic target at the CH-1 location, is the up-dip Likonde prospect that TLW was originally looking for when they decided to drill the Ntorya-1 well where they did, and we all know what (Tullow oil) were looking for, dont we ?

Yeah, Likonde huge pressure. At least this time round we'll have a rig that's suitable for that level of pressure, as ARA will not be going for the cheapest rig they can find, they'll be using the right tools for the job.

Yes, the 3 TCF of giip are asigned to the Ntorya Cratasous only, it will be interesting to see what the 3D seismic turns up and indicates what is in the Jarasic. Remember Likonde, the rig nearly got sent into orbit. : )

I wouldn't be surprised if the 3,024 Bcf turned out to be conservative once the results of 3D seismic are known. I also wouldn't be surprised if oil got a mention then too.

The 7tcf refers to all possible accumulations, unrisked. And it includes Kiliwani and Nyuni. 3tcf is the correct figure for Ntorya. Which is currently the only asset with any plans or funding for further work.
