30/1/2017 10:06 | LFDKMP - Don't tell her! My one is still banging on about the "magic beans" I bought instead of the new sofa. Trying to explain long term investing is like wheeling Stephen Hawking in, unplugging the machine and getting him to explain quantum physics through hand movements and gurgles. I wish I had told her I had been mugged instead. | bunbooster2
28/1/2017 07:36 | "President Lungu prom- ised Zambia’s continued friendship with Tanzania. He said even as the two countries struggle to improve TAZAMA pipeline, his coun- try was exploring more oppor- tunities to benefit from various gas discoveries in Tanzania, saying his administration eyes the Mtwara corridor." | warbaby43
27/1/2017 21:03 | I had a dream, the other night The funniest dream of all, all, all, all. I dreamt that AEX share price would grow 10p tall. Even worse, partly as a consequence of my dream, I have added considerably to my holding. Ringing in my ears however, are the words of a bookmaker friend of mine: "Over the years I've got wealthy on people placing bets on the dream they had last night" EDIT I should have mentioned that I haven't told her in the other room. She's putting in her curlers. I once interrupted the curlers; never again. | lfdkmp
26/1/2017 07:19 | "Dr Mpango, on the other hand, said the Bretton Woods institution had agreed to form a joint committee with the government to undertake policy reforms towards overhauling of the cash-strapped Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO). “Tanzania requires reliable and affordable energy for its industrialisation agenda, but this cannot be possible in the presence of the loss making Tanesco, there is a need for policy reforms in the energy sector,” he explained" Almost identical form of words used year in, year out but Tanesco remains same corrupt, chaotic mess. | warbaby43
25/1/2017 15:35 | There could be big Management changes at Bowleven, so perhaps short term it was a plus the farm out fell through, no matter the reason. Medium term it perhaps would open back up posibilites if the changes are rung in at BLVN | pj 1
25/1/2017 10:20 | But alas little permeability and sustainability IMHO. | ngms27
25/1/2017 09:55 | o/t AST that's one impressive flare, some 30-40ft. Last flare pics I saw that good were from PANR. Must be some serious pressure down that hole | effiert
25/1/2017 09:51 | It looks like this is taking a breather and investors are waiting for the drill results before piling in again. | 888icb
24/1/2017 11:00 | I should have added, so at least you know from the heartbeat that it is still alive. | patdavey
24/1/2017 10:59 | If you look at the long term charts, Aminex peaks tend to be very spiky. | patdavey
24/1/2017 10:20 | A lot of buys coming in now. Volume not that high, so likely just noise. Possibly a tiny shake before the bigger buys... Don't hold me to it though. Buffy | buffythebuffoon
23/1/2017 15:21 | Indeed it does, but ahead of schedule is ahead of schedule. Certainly, but we were never told what the schedule was - except for total estimated time, and the RNS says nothing about being ahead/behind/on schedule, so the only reason for assuming that the drill was ahead of schedule is that the 1st bit was quicker than expected if you assume that time drilling a given distance is the same all the way down. But it's not - not only are all drilling ops slower, they may well be doing other things that slow it down near the target zone. Peter | greyingsurfer

23/1/2017 12:52 | the drilling was expected to take between 45 and 60 days. though they did get to the 1,326 metres casing point in just 15 days, which did surprise me. Don't forget that drilling gets slower as you get deeper, and the string gets longer Peter | greyingsurfer
23/1/2017 12:37 | I don't think we can afford the luxury of LWD. It will be a wireline. LWD is still pretty rare. Caroil #2 and Caroil #6 are the same spec, one was likely used as spares for the other. Regards to drilling time they cannot be compared given the targets are different from the original to now. Two weeks time should be around the hot time IMHO. | ngms27
23/1/2017 12:28 | one thing i wonder about is and maybe ngms has an opinion, will they be logging the well (real-time) as they are drilling through the target zone, or as with NT-1 perform (Wireline logging) by lowering the 'logging tool' on the end of a wireline after the drilling is complete. my guess would be the former. Logging while drilling[edit] "In the 1970s, a new approach to wireline logging was introduced in the form of logging while drilling (LWD). This technique provides similar well information to conventional wireline logging but instead of sensors being lowered into the well at the end of wireline cable, the sensors are integrated into the drill string and the measurements are made in real-time, whilst the well is being drilled. This allows drilling engineers and geologists to quickly obtain information such as porosity, resistivity, hole direction and weight-on-bit and they can use this information to make immediate decisions about the future of the well and the direction of drilling" | blackgold00
23/1/2017 12:07 | one thing i think we can be pretty sure of, is that those leaks that were coming from the good ship solo have been well and truly sealed up. | blackgold00
23/1/2017 12:04 | N-1 was spudded just a day later than N-2 but victory for N-1 was not declared until 27th February and see my post 59104 for the RNSs immediately leading up to that. However, early progress at N-2 with Caroil- 2 was at double the rate of N-1 with Caroil-6, with this being the first progress report on 10/01/12: "The well was spudded on the 22 December 2011 and after subsequent drilling, casing was set at 125 metres and again at 548 metres. Following successful installation of the top drive to the rig the well is now drilling ahead at a depth of 620 metres. The target interval of the well is approximately 1,800 to 1,900 metres depth. Ntorya-1 is expected to reach total depth in late January 2012." That was followed by this on 27th Jan 2012: "The well was spudded on the 22 December 2011 and has been drilled to 1,535 metres where an intermediate casing string has been set. The well is now drilling ahead towards the target interval of approximately 1,800 to 1,900 metres depth. Ntorya-1 is expected to reach total depth around the end of January" At this point it should be tenners in for us with winning RNS date scooping the pool. | warbaby43 |
