16/1/2016 17:48 | Mention of large pinches of salt brings me directly to the Proactive interview (edgar222's post @ 55453) Following JB's indication that following "month to 2 months" of testing, commercial production would start and "we should be coming up to well into that 25-30 mmcfd and potentially a little bit higher than 30mmcfd as well" the lovely Juliette then asks about targeted revenues and is told "once we get into that commercial operations rate we should be looking at revenues around $1m net net to us" That figure to me looks flat out wrong unless he knows that neither Bowleven is going to proceed with its 25% purchase nor Solo take up their additional 6.5% KN-1 option, and while Ritson conspicuously failed to indicate to Juliette in his interview that Solo would be proceeding, BLVN's slice would be more than enough to make $1m pm to AEX entirely fanciful. Unless he's playing some very slithery word games, can anyone care to suggest how the figures might be sliced and diced to mount a credible defence. | warbaby43
16/1/2016 15:50 | LFDKMP Not sure that applies to those you have named. I am all for a healthy debate and contrary views but I cant be bothered with re-reading negativity with an agenda. Healthy debate about each piece of news if fine. But I could write the posts for some people they are so predictable and (FWIW and IMHO) don't help me make decisions. Fair play if you find them helpful. I just get bored with the repetition. Each to their own and good luck to you | edgar222
16/1/2016 11:06 | Well said! Not to mention the ignorant arrogance of the filtering brigade | skinwalker
15/1/2016 23:49 | edgar Life would be very dull if I only read posts that concurred with my own views. | lfdkmp

15/1/2016 16:57 | Admitting delays in gas production in Q4-2015, Wenthworth stressed that gas supplies are now being ramped up. Not sure if that's intentional or not, but this article seems to suggest the delays may have been due to supply problems, rather than demand problems, as Wentworth suggested. 15/1/2016 15:58 | To Kev, Epic, ngms (aka Jonny) and any other manic depressives, doom mongers, shorters and others that you wouldn't want to go on a two week walking holiday with - can you help? I haven't been keeping up recently. The GSA - (that a few said would never be signed)- what is the current status? | lfdkmp
15/1/2016 15:43 | Which is also probably the earliest AEX will be drilling anything offshore (2020). | ngms27
15/1/2016 15:10 | Assuming the BG/Shell deal completes, what's going to be interesting is what happens to the BG Tanzanian assets. If Shell announces a disposal that would be a very big negative for Tanzania and for Aminex, but on the other hand, were Shell to identify the acreage as a key LNG asset that would certainly help mitigate the negative Ophir and RAK surrenders. Worth recalling too that that the last published TPDC map in April 2015 showed Shell holding Block 8 jointly with Petrobras while having Blocks 9,10,11 and 12 under application. Shell being Shell, however, they will probably be having a meeting sometime around 2020 to decide when they might begin to start putting the matter under consideration. | warbaby43
15/1/2016 11:56 | ngms, how much would the Nyuni 3D seismic cost? Last IMS NYUNI AREA PSA (operator) "With the focus for the Nyuni Area PSA now in the deep water sector, a re-tendering process for the acquisition of the 3D seismic is underway to maximise the favourable seismic acquisition environment. Acquisition is not expected until the next weather window in 2016 and subject to a suitable vessel being available. In August 2015 Aminex received confirmation from the TPDC that the Ministry of Energy and Mines had agreed to vary the Initial Exploration Period by deferring the two exploration well drilling commitment into the four year First Extension Period which ends in October 2019. Aminex has submitted a relinquishment plan which should maintain optionality through the retention of substantially all the deepwater blocks while retaining key blocks on the continental shelf, including Nyuni and Fanjove Islands. The relinquishment plan is subject to TPDC approval. "Aminex has received notification from RAK Gas LLC of its intention to withdraw from the Nyuni Area PSA and not to participate in the First Extension Period. On completion of the withdrawal expected to take effect on 30 November 2015, Aminex expects to have an increased interest of at least 92.5% in the licence, subject to agreement with the remaining partners. Although the Company is unlikely to be in a position to drill an expensive deep water well in the Nyuni Area without introducing a larger company as a farm-in partner, the possibility of drilling wells on the shelf more economically remains an option." | blackgold00

15/1/2016 11:31 | The cashflow from KN-1 won't cover existing operating and administration expenses never mind 3D in deep water or further holes. What a load of Corporate bull. | ngms27
15/1/2016 11:28 | interesting little find by gaslady lse. “The idea is that we will get the gas going from Kiliwani North-1, but then the plant will act as an aggregation point for any gas we may find offshore, so we won’t need to build a big offshore LNG-type facility if we discover gas in the east of the Nyuni block, where we have a number of very exciting AVO anomalies which we’re going to do 3D seismic over,” Kelso said. New 3D seismic is planned to image deepwater turbidite gas plays of up to 1.3 trillion cubic feet potential that have been defined to date. “This is a two stage process. We have the cashflow from the well we have drilled, and then we have other targets in the area to explore,” Kelso explained. | blackgold00

15/1/2016 07:50 | Putting into context all the whingeing about class sizes over here: Only now is education becoming nominally "free" in Tanzania despite all the foreign aid multi, multi billions handed over ostensibly to improve health and education. A largely illiterate workforce is one of Tanzania's major economic handicaps. | warbaby43
