A big thanks for a start to the week plenty of info as normal to read and digest.
Long PDX thanks gausie CPI,POC,ICI.

Question is it best to go long using a normal broker ie Charles Schwab or use a CFD account as i have just set up a cfd account with cmc.

Any info would be helpfull.

This weeks shares magazine full of buy notes and cover announcing "Tech stocks on road to recovery". More telling is David Linton seemingly becoming less bearish - he hasn't talked about the large H&S pattern on the world's major indices for a while.
There are now quite a few hyped stocks on the fbb with thousands of postings.
Makes me think that we will be heading for a rough few weeks.
Only a few long positions, nae fsj,pro,cdy
... but - quite few shorts on including S&P, DJ and:

An excellent start as always. It is, however, unlike you to have such a major omission.

Pursuit Dynamics (PDX) report finals on Tuesday 10th. This, I anticipate, will be the highlight of the week so far as the city is concerned. Please could you update header accordingly? It ought really to be in bold, maybe bordered with flashing gold stars.

Two quotes from "Building" issue 6 December 2002 that might interest followers: -

"News that Swiss corporate raider Tito Tettamanti has lifted his stake in Amey to more than 8% seems to have stabilised the share price of the beleaguered support services group. .........management is believed to be looking at breaking up the group of finding a buyer."

"Tube lines, (Ameys Group), is expected to close the deal this month and start work next month."

Times says today to expect RNS announcement on Monday indicating both write downs (non cash) of ca. £90m on net book value of assets (rather than expected ca. £60m) and warning on (cash) profits this year because of customers delaying contracts, partly general uncertainty on economic conditions and partly Amey specific nervousness about its longevity. Need to re-negotiate banking covenants has delayed announcement; banks remain uncertain about LUL contract financial completion and proceeds from disposals.

Has anyone seen info about AMEY selling there part of tube deal to other partners (with an option to buy back later) or is this another rumour?

Aye. Things are starting to look better. Quite fancy that bottom for a 10p rise on PPP signiture, imminent in my opinion. Maybe as soon as Monday. All parties want it signed as soon as possible for political reasons.

Had to buy some after a lot of considerations, so I'm in, a gamble on them signing the tube deal. I assume the 50m signing with Laing is a formality.
- PS Laing would have done DD- I assume they've not found anything odd in teh accounts. PPS some good buying today. 31-33.
