21/11/2002 17:28 | looks like theres going to be some stagnation till this LUL /PPP stuff is sighned sealed dun dusted and moneys coming in. | petersmith6
21/11/2002 11:03 | Re payment of invoices, this has always been the case with Amey. You'll find them pressing absolutely everyone they can, for as long as they can possibly get away with it. Contractural payment dates are regularly not achieved on biggies, let alone the small guys. The whole industry is a bit like this, but I'm not sure whether Amey are particularly bad or not. I don't have a wide enough frame of reference. | jay c
21/11/2002 10:03 | Looks like someone is stake-reducing today and yesterday. I doubt it's either Meditor or Sterling. Surprised that the 250k and 100k sells today has done nothing to the price (yet), so maybe the aforementioned are mopping up the stock. Hopefully, the PFI announcement will come soon (as promised), and with it, a statement about the company's finances. edit Of course the price has now ticked down, but only after a further 650k sell program. This means that 1 million shares have been sold in bulk in the past hour! Surprised it hasn't gone down more, but the day is young. I hope there is no behind-the-scenes reason for the sales. I hold 90k at 30p (in case you think I'm deramping) | ildamiano
20/11/2002 15:34 | well,if theres a black hole and heaven forbid there was.then the price would plumit.cheap shares here we come. | petersmith6
20/11/2002 15:28 | it's normal practice in most industries to delay settling your bills as long as possible. perhaps the finance manager has fallen down an accounting black hole! | snappy
20/11/2002 15:24 | nornal practice in the construstion industry | petersmith6
20/11/2002 13:29 | You might be Interested to know that Amey has not paid any outstanding Invoices for the last 2 weeks and the finance Manager who signs these off has "dissapeared" | mabtrader1
20/11/2002 11:45 | Il damiano, Yes today's movements have puzzled me as well - but there seems to be plenty of opportunistic buying (e.g. 300k @31.5p) at these lower levels which is encouraging. Q | quidzinn
20/11/2002 11:34 | Well, contrary to board opinion (including mine), the price is taking something of a battering - wonder why? Any stakebuilders surely wouldn't sell out at this price - currently they would hardly be in profit. Market maker tree shaking perhaps? (I never believe in that theory, personally.) It will be interesting to see how it reacts to re-testing the 30p bid mark. | ildamiano
19/11/2002 21:19 | hope so to should see 34 to 36 by close tomorrow and maybe 38 to 40 on friday. | petersmith6
19/11/2002 19:07 | i believe we have seen Amy's bottom. PS. Kylie's nicer though | panagos
19/11/2002 18:13 | can only be good news for us, lets see what happens on the open | james111
19/11/2002 16:53 | Excellent news today - typical of Amey PR to announce it with a mere 20 trading minutes left! Had this been announced in the morning time, the share would have built positive momentum for the entire day. However, I do reckon that this should advance further tomorrow on the strength of the news, but it will depend on what extra comments or rumours that the morning papers report along with the announcement. | ildamiano
19/11/2002 16:30 | Today's announcment of the following agreement will be good for AMY's cash situation : 'Laing Investments Limited, the infrastructure investment and operations business of John Laing, confirms that it has been appointed sole preferred bidder for the prospective purchase of Amey PLC's PFI portfolio interest. Negotiations are continuing and a further announcement will be made in due course.' Q | quidzinn
19/11/2002 11:46 | they can move the bid to there hearts content.but is the sell price which dosent want to move. | petersmith6
19/11/2002 11:17 | This has been marked up at the start of each day for the last four trading days, indicating that there is still no end to the stakebuilding by certain parties. Today has seen the lowest volume (thusfar) for weeks, which suggests that sellers may be drying up, and that a more pronounced upward spike may be required to stimulate selling action. It will be interesting to see what transpires trade-wise by the end of the day. | ildamiano
19/11/2002 00:09 | i should be doing so work at ameys head office on friday,so will try and pick a few brains when im down the pub.however ,strong chance that even the staff have been kept in the dark about current events | petersmith6
18/11/2002 11:49 | Dr. Tito Tettamanti's investment vehicle Sterling now has 6.60%(16,675,000 shares) in AMY This is up from 4.86% (12,275,000 shares) as announced on the 8th Nov. I'm hanging on to his coat-tails with my meagre 0.02 %. Q | quidzinn
18/11/2002 11:48 | As suspected, Sterling has bought more shares in the company, and now owns 6.6%. It's a very good sign that something radical (such as a buyout or mass asset sales) will happen in the next few months. | ildamiano
18/11/2002 10:32 | hoping it will down some more so i can top up.may see 28/29 buy mid or end of week | petersmith6
18/11/2002 10:17 | Stakebuilding seems to have been replaced with stake-dumping this morning, with the earlier gains getting erased pretty quickly. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see these recover later today, as the price rose 3% before the open, indicating that someone has put in an order for more stock. They may fall back further today before this happens, though. | ildamiano
18/11/2002 09:13 | Got 21 days to go, got 21 days to go & then we see it go go! up & beyond 40p. So get in now & have yourself a very merry Xmas! | taylorag
15/11/2002 16:37 | ye of little faith.next stop 38 to 40p then i expect to see a little breather and some proffit takeing be for 60 to 70p | petersmith6
