   Ambrian appointed Nominated Advisor and Joint Broker to Avocet Mining PLC


Ambrian Partners Limited ("the Company"), the wholly-owned corporate finance and
stockbroking subsidiary of Ambrian Capital plc, announces that it has been
appointed Nominated Advisor ("NOMAD") and joint broker to Avocet Mining PLC 
("Avocet") with immediate effect.


Avocet is a gold mining company with two producing gold mines and numerous
exploration projects in South East Asia. Avocet has an 80% interest in the
producing North Lanut gold mine in Indonesia together with exploration and
mining rights over approximately 50,000 hectares. In Malaysia, Avocet has 100%
ownership of the Penjom Mine in the centre of Malaysia. Penjom produced its one
millionth ounce of gold in April 2007 and has increased its reserves and
resources in each of the last 5 years.


Avocet's exploration group is active around its mines in Indonesia and Malaysia,
as well as examining grass roots and developed projects in Malaysia, Indonesia
and China, and has added 3.5 million ounces of resources between 2002 and 2007.


Avocet listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1996 and on the AIM market of the
London Stock Exchange in July 2002. Avocet has a market capitalisation of GBP
202.7m.
