Keep an eye on ECR tomorrow. It looks like they are in discussions with Newmont.

Cbeadle, I have the same investment here as I do in BMV. Equally good but for completely different reasons. BMV has been disappointing but for reasons outside their control ( 2019 permit delays). It’s about 9-12 months behind where I thought it would be. The most frustrating thing is the 6 months it’s taken to ( hopefully) secure debt finance to restart the mines. Also, 50% JV rather than 100% owned but if they can get up to annualised 20,000 oz net Share through 2023, it should value them around £65-70 million or c. 4x the current share price.

As far as immediacy and risk is concerned , Altyn is a better bet.

I am thinking of these, but I think BMV is more undervalued and in a much safer political place than ALTN, although tempting

I wonder what the bank balance is now?

$17m loan last year
$10 bond issue completed yesterday
$3.5m revenues every month

Mkt cap just £52m

we are ridiculously under valued.

1m shares bid @ 2.07p - won't surprise me to see it filled, MMs must be getting wound up since it forces them to buy higher off book.

What's not clear is whether the bidder is done.

[update] Bid gone - no trade report so probably cancelled. L2 is always ephemeral.

I wonder if the recent share price dip was due to uncertainty over the bond issue fully completing?

Its an important point. You regularly see small companies taking out loans at 10% - 12% interest that can be crippling during the early development phase. ALTN have the cash now for organic growth.

The advantage of a bond is that the capital is available for longer. Which gives more time for the investment activity to produce a return.

The bond principal is repaid to the bondholder in one full payment at the bond's maturity.

With a loan unless there is a repayment holiday, part of the loan principal starts to be repaid with the first interest payment. So part of the loan would only be available for six months.

Hi Ex, regarding ALTN options on sources of funding, it seems to me they had finally run short of patience and options - the AIX Bonds have accessed significantly more immediate cash to deploy within the business AND have probably helped build the kudos/credibility of both ALTN and JSC in the Kaz financial community too, whilst developing a cornerstone presence on the emerging Astana International exchange..I hope it has also promoted increased Kaz awareness of the ALTN shares and their London listing..... in due course can this lead to a partial trade-sale and reduction in the 70% African Resources holding? tightfist
