05/4/2011 21:44 | agree, comment on simberi would have been appreciated, but I doubt institiuons would have stumped up the cash if this was an issue, logically thinking of course. Overall very positive, just need confirmation of simberi re-start. Funds will buy in when full list takes place as some are unable to invest in AIM | dvsfm
05/4/2011 20:06 | Exactly sg31, how much effort would it have been to say either Simberi is open or has been delayed. It's just beyond belief they can be so ignorant of effective communications. We're left to assume that institutions wouldn't have just given them £60m if there were an issue! The RNS says, "A$93.8 million / GBP60.1 million placement to institutional and sophisticated investors". Does this make the rest of us neither institutions nor sophisticated? | matt
05/4/2011 19:30 | They should have included an update on the Simberi shutdown. We still don't have confirmation that production has restarted. | sg31
05/4/2011 18:36 | If aye-aye-aye is correct, the market cap at tonight's price is £433MM There are 40 companies in the FTSE-250 with a market cap lower than this, so on a simplistic basis, they should get into the FTSE-250 next time there's a re-shuffle. Not only would trackers need to buy, but a main listing should open the door to other institutional investors who may be averse to AIM? At least I think that's how it works | spangle93
05/4/2011 18:01 | is this a good thing people? | dandick
05/4/2011 17:16 | Details of placement now announced - £60m at 38.5p. Simberi upgrade capital costs and repaying debt (not sure about that one), main LSE listing to follow. Will be looking at the details later. | ajviews
05/4/2011 17:09 | NICE late RNS | vivgav
05/4/2011 15:42 | Management here have always been rather blasé about issuing shares, which is the reason I've never made it into a substantial position since buying in 2007. aimho | rambutan2
05/4/2011 15:30 | The shareprice is recovering from support levels under 40p and is still in an uptrend, I think if there was real bad news coming here it would be down much more. The 'further uncertainty' creates an opportunity for those looking to invest in AGLD and I wouldn't sell or reduce until knowing the news and purpose for the funds, although it is a strange position to be halted on ASX yet tradable here! | ajviews
05/4/2011 14:03 | SP starting to come back up. | kenone
05/4/2011 13:34 | If an independent team were to examine the repair work at Simberi and then report back to the government agency that employed them it would take at least a full working week to prepare a report and submit it for consideration. I doubt if there is anything sinister in the request for suspension as they would have to make known anything that adversely affected the shareprice. | walrus5
05/4/2011 13:21 | they should have confirmed as they inferred ut would reopen last week | juju43
05/4/2011 10:08 | Or could it be Simberi is still shut and we need to do a major piece of work to get it open? I find it so strange that if they have reopened they haven't blown a fanfare! | matt
05/4/2011 09:58 | Agree with you ollyb10 - Placing will be announced very soon AND reopening of Simberi. Just sit tight and 50p should come in next few weeks. | kenone
05/4/2011 09:50 | Also hopefully will coincide with the news of Simberi re-opening to give a bump up! | ollyb10
05/4/2011 09:48 | This could be good news - as could be linked to expansion and acquisition as already indicated. All depends on placing price I think.... gotta be aiming 40p+. This dip could be perfect buying time, while other freak it could be bad.... | ollyb10
05/4/2011 09:01 | just sold as wanted to move them into an isa, now having second thoughts about buying back. but think i will. | ukgeorge
05/4/2011 08:43 | Any idea on right's price? | jaws6
05/4/2011 08:40 | i would think an aquisition or further expansion/exploratio | dvsfm
05/4/2011 08:12 | Shares mag said a few weeks ago it was looking to move to the main market. | vivgav
05/4/2011 08:12 | AIM do not allow you to ask for a suspension! | davidblack
05/4/2011 07:53 | dam, a placement, hope it aint to low. | daytraders
05/4/2011 07:43 | why only suspend on the aux? and not on aim as well could this be a good thing or are we about to be suspended here too? | jpcarvil
05/4/2011 07:39 | Maybe they need the cash after the shortfall in Simberi production due to ongoing closure? They are about to start an expanation project at that site. | matt |
