ANNOUNCEMENT ON KEY OPERATING DATA OF AUGUST 2020
The enclosed announcement (the "SSE Announcement") was published by Air China Limited (the "Air China") on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on 15 September 2020, which contains combined operating data for August 2020 for Air China and its subsidiaries (collectively, the "Group"). This announcement enclosing the SSE Announcement is made by Air China pursuant to Rules 13.09 and 13.10B of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (the "Listing Rules") and the Inside Information Provisions (as defined in the Listing Rules) under Part XIVA of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Chapter 571 of the Laws of Hong Kong).

ANNOUNCEMENT ON KEY OPERATING DATA OF AUGUST 2020
In August 2020, Air China Limited (the "Company"), and its subsidiaries (collectively with the Company, the "Group") recorded decrease in combined passenger traffic (measured by revenue passenger kilometers (the "RPK")) as compared to the same period last year and recorded increase as compared to the same period last month. Passenger capacity (measured by available seat kilometers (the "ASK")) recorded a year-on-year decrease of 41.4% and an increase of 23.4% as compared to the same period last month, and passenger traffic recorded a year-on-year decrease of 49.4% and an increase of 25.6% as compared to the same period last month. For domestic routes, passenger capacity increased by 22.7% and passenger traffic increased by 25.6%, as compared to the same period last month. For international routes, passenger capacity increased by 38.1% and passenger traffic increased by 23.1%, as compared to the same period last month. For regional routes, passenger capacity increased by 123.3% and passenger traffic increased by 188.4%, as compared to the same period last month. The overall passenger load factor was 72.9%, representing an increase of 1.3 percentage points as compared to the same period last month. The passenger load factor for domestic routes increased by 1.7 percentage points and for international routes decreased by 6.3 percentage points as compared to the same period last month, and the passenger load factor for regional routes increased by 2.7 percentage points as compared to same period last month.
In terms of cargo operations, cargo capacity (measured by available freight tonne kilometers (the "AFTK")) decreased by 10.9% year-on-year, and recorded a decrease of 4.8% as compared to the same period last month. Cargo and mail traffic (measured by revenue freight tonne kilometers (the "RFTK")) decreased by 26.2% as compared to the same period last year and decreased by 3.7% as compared to the same period last month. The cargo load factor was 38.2%, representing a year-on-year decrease of 7.9 percentage points and an increase of 0.4 percentage point as compared to the same period last month.
In August 2020, the Group introduced two A320NEO and retired one A319. As at the end of August 2020, the Group operated a fleet of 700 aircraft, including 293 self-owned aircraft, 204 aircraft under finance lease and 203 aircraft under operating lease.
