Hi Tony - apologies for missing your previous posts !

Cashed a profit near the 63.75p and poodled back in @ 59p last week. Added again today @ 56.5p. Expected a retracement to 55.5p so today's 54p should be it. If the BMR is still in play, then the big move should start very soon. The 2001 low of 62.75p saw a doubling to 126p by Q2 2002. No reason why AGS should not do the same this year. Target, therefore, from 51.5p base is 103p !

Out of these Friday could go below 57 today on the U:S open. Further extreme bargain territory.

Pk,

Don't know whether you're still holding these or not. Continuing mega volumes for Ags. I reckon there's been heavy shorting and heavy short squeezing here. Can't help thinking the squeeze is going to continue again tomorrow. RNS's re: holdings in the coming days one thinks. My personal opinion is a high Wednesday afternoon around 65p. Good value here.

Regards,

Tony

Thanks Tony.

It will be interesting to read the reports tomorrow - cannot see what they are quibbling about ! I Added twice @ 56p and 53.5p and this is now my preferred Media stock. As you say, sooner or later the market should move it up nicely. Most companies will have 50% added from their Q1 2003 lows by Q2 2003 and I'm pretty sure AGS will be one of them. Will probably Add more tomorrow given half a chance. You never know, we may even get 45p before the markets decide to put in the BMR.

Phenomenal results from AGS under the circumstances and a decent outlook. Anybody know what the city is concerned about or is it just a case of windiness ?

Lots of bad news already priced in to these IMO. Good or bad price will react positively I reckon. Its whether you want to continue holding after that.

Bit concerned that AGS didn't put out an EOY trading statement this year (last year 07/01/2002). Results this Tuesday will obviously be interesting and not without danger even @ 55.5p. Holding a smallish amount Long on the spread but would not be surprised to see a further tank down to c 45p if results are weak and/or outlook remains grim.

Worth taking a chance and holding or get rid/reduce on Monday. Thoughts anyone ?

Take some comfort from this,

Been no guidance since so expect the results to be flat I.e. good. Generally decent enough. Be buying in myself tomorrow or monday.

Citgigroup downgraded all market research firms the other day and say Aegis' Synovate group of companies are in the worst position of anyone in the sector. The results haven't been delayed as far as I know.

AGS started the year on 93p and has already touched 89p on 02/12. The 80.5p visited on 04/12 could even be a new base with a final EOY flourish to about 93.25p. From there I will probably sell most of my holdings as a retracement to the 70s looks likely during Q1 2003 although a repeat of the pattern in Q4 2001 and Q1 2002 would take the share price to about 112p before the inevitable retracement. Tough decision !

Salpara 111,
If it hits 53-57 in the next couple of days I'm filling up to my eyeballs once again. This share has been extremely kind to me. I just love the way it moves. It'll be back over seventy within two weeks no matter where it goes IMO. Savaged margins are holding up, major clients giving out forecast meeting figures ensuring ad spend will at least be maintained. Business looking pretty streamlined. Harris associates loading up. For themselves or someone else? Interesting stuff. Whatever happens I'm happy. Bit of a bessy this share DYOR all IMO etc.

The only reason the price has held up so well of late was down to the sustained institutional buying of the last month.
If that now comes to an end then there is no reason why we wont see 50pence here.
The global downturn in the advertising industry is showing no signs of bouncing back any time soon so profits will remain seriously under pressure for some time yet.
When things do turn around there will doubtless be good money to be made here but that might well be a year away.

Orvis,
Are you still holding? Sold out myself yesterday at 66.5 should have got that 70 but thought the rally would continue. Looking for a flat day monday which might prompt me to buy again. I'll be a bit wary of any further falls. There is a whole load of upside in this one IMO. You might get that 70+ next week. DYOR etc.

Seems to have hit a bit of resistance at the 70p mark - still a 20% profit in 4 days is not bad!

Many positive signals coming out of the US as far as Aegis is concerned. I might be hanging on to the coat tails of this rally a little longer yet.
