23/8/2006 13:56 | Many Thanks Frank, that does explain a little of your aversion to this and more than likely the entire airline sector. A friend of mine used to advise clients on equities and said that if a client worked in the particular sector he was recommended he would more than likely never buy it. Familiarity breeds contempt etc... I try to make most investments with an open mind and doing a certain degree of research and I am confident enough in this that's its a decent play. NO matter what you buy there will always have 3 or more bear points, if they haven't why aren't they capped at billions and a world leader.. | bigdunc
23/8/2006 13:51 | Actually thats not strictly true. I bought easyjet shares at just over #1 a year or two back, as that was too good an opportunity to pass down. Any similarity between this mob and easyjet is purely coincidental though. | frank spencer
23/8/2006 13:51 | LOL heard it all now so that makes you and old geezer. | knowing
23/8/2006 13:46 | BigD. Certainly. I used to be a commercial airlines pilot and my brother works for Virgin. I think that qualifies me as having more than a passing knowledge of the industry. For whats its worth, I would never buy any airline share at any price, as they are all barely one loose nut away from bankrupcy. | frank spencer
23/8/2006 13:43 | Tell me Frank what do you know about the airline business, if you are an expert or perhaps an industry analyst then I will of course bow to your superior knowledge.. | bigdunc
23/8/2006 13:38 | Sounds good to me! | overbgua
23/8/2006 13:37 | You don't appear to know much about the airline business, or for that matter, judging by your posts, anything else. Your loss son. | frank spencer
23/8/2006 13:20 | Only if they have done zero research which is obviously where you are coming from. | knowing
23/8/2006 13:19 | Could one also say, Lots of sellers about, looking dire as margins continue to get squeezed, growth set to stall as initial impressive percentage growth leads to stagnation ? I think one could. | frank spencer
23/8/2006 13:16 | Lots of stock moving around. Looking good for the long term. Nice growing company. | knowing

18/8/2006 09:41 | Yes you will have been notified about this as a holder of AAIR. Just the formalities of listing documentation and processes. | bigdunc
18/8/2006 09:22 | Thank you for your reply. I gather from your comment that the shares have been allocated prior to listing. On what does listing now depend? | wookey
18/8/2006 07:50 | All shares are given an ordinary value, for someone who has always used Crest and never received a certificate, this may not be known. This bears no resemblance to the price of the firms shares upon its eventual listing on OFEX. You have received 1 share for every 10 AAIR held. i.e if you held 50 000 AAIR, you will be allocated 5000 Avation, if they come to the market with a 4-5p spread, your holding will have a market value of £200 | bigdunc
17/8/2006 16:43 | I have a number of AVATION PLC ORDINARY SHARES OF 1 PENCE EACH AAIA.OFX which cost nothing and are worth nothing. Could someone please explain the purpose of these shares and tell me if I am sitting on a pot of gold or something else? | wookey
17/8/2006 14:32 | Now now ;-) | knowing |
