(1) Appointment of Mr Mark Florance on 10 May 2017
The Board of Aberdeen Asian Income Fund Limited is pleased to announce that Mr Mark Florance will be appointed to the Board as an independent non-executive Director of the Company with effect from the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting ("AGM") to be held on 10 May 2017.
Mr Peter Arthur, Chairman, commented:
"I am very pleased that Mr Florance has agreed to join the Board with effect from 10 May 2017. Mark is a Singapore Permanent Resident with over 25 years' experience in corporate finance advisory, mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, debt capital markets and debt restructuring in Asia across most industry sectors, particularly energy, telecoms, resources, consumer, banking, media, property and transport. Mark started his career at Arthur Andersen before moving to NM Rothschild & Sons Limited, Australia in 1988. Mark left Rothschilds Singapore in 2012 as executive vice chairman to become founder and managing director of S.E.A. Strategic Pte Limited, a company involved in strategic consulting around private equity."
There are no disclosures required to be made for Mr Florance in respect of paragraphs 9.6.13 (1) - (6) of the Financial Conduct Authority's Listing Rules.
Mr Florance is not interested in any of the Company's shares.
(2) Retirement of Mr Andrey Berzins on 10 May 2017
As part of the Board's on-going plans for orderly succession Mr Berzins has indicated that he intends to retire from the Board with effect from the conclusion of the AGM of the Company to be held on 10 May 2017.
