08/9/2010 13:46 | Also ABAA from the same stable as AAS is worth a look and at a big discount to NAV | davebowler

06/9/2010 12:36 | I'm in CYN too -a bargain in my view. | davebowler
06/9/2010 11:25 | Yes, investment trust buyers seem back from holiday, though looks like patience will be required regarding chinese and russian ITs. Now of course I'm getting nervous with discount to NAV droppping below 8%, I hope NAV re-rating continues apace. With their discounts exceeding 15%, my purchases of CYN, BRWM, BRSC, and DNDL over the summer are also coming good, but I think we may shortly see the end of these "bargain" combinations of high discounts and proven management teams. | glentimon
01/9/2010 14:35 | Good move, in both senses,glen. | davebowler
26/8/2010 09:31 | Become one of my core holdings, alongside JRS & JMG. Outperforming them both currently as the message on asian smaller companies is becoming known. I particularly like the geographical spread of AAS investments, as per Trustnet analysis. Didn't feel too vulnerable adding more around 500p, as appears to be less volatile than others on the TA graphs. | glentimon

14/5/2010 16:24 | Not many investments are just short of their all time high but this is. | davebowler
08/1/2010 13:16 | THE warrant looks very attractive. Last nights close 299.5p Ordinary 405.5p Exercise expiry Nov 2010 at 100p(exercise price. The Capital Fulcrum is -6.75601 -gearing 1.35392 and premium -1.4796547 | washbrook
07/8/2009 16:24 | With so many of my "quality" investment trust holdings, namely MCP, PHI, JMG, JMC, NII, running much closer to NAV, this looked rather attractive at >15% discount to NAV. If it's true we've turned the corner and the Far East banks weren't burnt in the same way, surely the smaller companies need a look in. Since I also liked the geographical spread as per Trustnet website, I've added this. | glentimon
02/1/2007 19:26 | SST is currently much better value for a similar NAV performance. IMHO | foster
19/7/2006 17:05 | well .... interesting upward movement at end of day .... thanks to the US rise / sentiment ..... let's see if it can be maintained this week. | don muang
19/7/2006 12:07 | Tried this morning (Wed) but ask on warrants was 150 with no trades in either shares or warrants and no movement in share price Didn't fancy it. | tuckswood8
18/7/2006 02:45 | noted.... good luck.... | don muang
17/7/2006 22:26 | Well I bought at 148 on 15th June and as I use a rising 7% stop-loss I was taken out at 151.23 last Friday so I am still reasonably pleased, but not as pleased as I was last Tuesday! Dow has held up well today and if there is a recovery in the Hang Seng in the morning I may go back in if I can buy around 146.5 | tuckswood8
16/7/2006 15:40 | tw8 .... apologies for asking this ... but r u still reasonably pleased? | don muang
08/7/2006 15:13 | Steady but not very exciting performer, very small discount to NAV considering present volatility of Asian markets. No premium, liquid market, and reasonable spread on the warrants though and these could soar if sentiment changed. I bought AASW a couple of weeks ago when I failed to get any EFSW and am reasonably pleased. | tuckswood8
08/4/2006 08:28 | Those boys over at www.fairshare.biz seem to be in the know as usual | nockybalboa
17/1/2005 09:07 | Buy on any weakness around 105p... makes sense... | hectorp
14/1/2005 11:02 | Warrants now 110p region,.... with 5 years life, the warrant returns 100% gearing to the Asian small cos market.. | hectorp
15/10/2003 10:14 | warrants now only 8p out of the money 83p versus 175p 8.23am 16.10.03 8.25p ''' 83.25p'''' 175.25 | washbrook |
