VSs latest valuation in Aug was £65.5m, our 7% stake is worth £4.55m and our IBS holding of 800k, yet our market cap is only £3.5m. When VS report in the next 2/3 weeks (up to Mar 2017) I would expect to see some cash on the balance sheet from the early contract wins of Tesco, Dixon's, Maplin etc. These results are pivotal for LEGs future success, I would hope for a Sp in excess of 0.19 by the New Year. Patience is needed VS results weren't lodged until early Jan last year!

Well, as I've said before sid - it must be practical simply because of the blue-chip clients using it, and they haven't lost any of them.

Lets see how things pan out - all will be revealed in due course.

I dont think I said, ever, that it wasnt any good.

I am questioning the practicality of it for bulk purchasing, and the ability to monetise it amongst their typical clientele.

sid - soup makes some valid points. I must take issue with your stance on the product itself.

If it wasn't any good, and indeed didn't work, then John Lewis, Tesco, Maplin, Argos, PC World et al wouldn't be using it.

As for your question re the NHS, you must be fully aware "The Edge" is in use at some trusts, there is a slightly different system, The Edge for Health, as mentioned by lend which is due to come online next year.

As I've said repeatedly so much going on behind the scenes.

Given the time you stated you were out you must have exited around the 0.13-0.15p mark. Now you can re-enter the fray a bit cheaper!

Connecting NHS buyers with suppliers
During 2018 NHS Shared Business Services, in partnership with leading technology company Virtualstock, is set to launch a new eMarketplace, Edge4Health, to the NHS - at no cost at all!

That's right; technology designed to retail ecommerce best practice will be free for all NHS organisations to use, fundamentally improving how products are bought and paid. What's more, Edge4Health is a fully mobile solution that enables requisitioning, approval and receipting on the go. Goodbye desktop, hello 21st century!

Thank you.
Are you saying that they havnt even begun with the NHS yet?

sid, TheEdge4Health by VS is not due to commence until next year, so it is not up and running for other Trusts to evaluate.

In terms of roll out across the NHS, unfortunately the NHS does not operate like that.

The is no singular entity to do so, nor can reports such as the Carter Report recommend a specific product as that is against UK competition laws.

It is up to each individual NHS Trust to make the decision on how they procure. They then utilise whichever method / product / service they choose. Central Government cannot dictate a system or product to them.

I understand that Soup. Do you not find it concerning that the NHS has not rolled VS out across the board? It stands to reason that if it was the answer to block buying, as per NHS purchase orders, they would have rolled it out pretty sharpish. Patience can only go so far until one should question the product.

I agree about monetising being an issue. Retailers cut suppliers margins to the bone, that is well known. So quite how keen they'd be to pay thousands, millions to a small start up tech company is open to question.

I like the theory and idea of VS, but the performance of this share, which for many is a VS proxy, has made me wonder what I am missing. As you correctly state, we will be the last to know.

Good morning all, a late last night watching NZ slowly ascend the world cricket rankings, hence a 10am start.

Good luck and best wishes to all genuine LEG holders.

carefreesid, personally I'm not worried about the 'lack of' new contracts. VS has enough to be getting on with at the moment with their current contracts. As I've said before, its 'show me' time. They need to prove that they can make it work and make money.

The key issue is can they monetise the contracts they have as this would give an indication of the viability of their business.

For instance, the March 2016 figures included a full year with Tesco (the biggest UK retailer by far) as a client user of their tech, as well as Argos and Maplin. Yet they were still £94k in the red. Obviously, not seeing all the figures, we don't know how much is ramp up in Exec salaries.

The problem we all have is with VS being a private company, the info we require is extremely difficult to come across. So we have to dig around alot and be patient. It just add to the risk side of this investment, we are indirect holders in VS (we don't personally own VS stock only holding through LEG) so we will be the last to know anything, good or bad.

Lend

I'm not sure it is. I wonder if the fact that the rest of the NHS hasn't rolled it out is related to its practical usage. I also wondered if the lack of new contracts was down to its practical usage.

I read a point made elsewhere once, that buying stuff, as an individual, say on ebay, is easy. Buying truck loads of something is not easily replicated on line.

I read profs post after mine, but that doesn't answer these points.

However, if you don’t wholly understand the product that a company produces I personally would not invest in the company, it’s a golden rule...

david,

do you entirely agree with "lend" AGAIN?

as a total technophobe it's simply not possible.

Just pointing that out like.

Well Sid they are all very different questions from questioning the practical use of the product. However fundamentally if you don’t wholly understand the product that a company produces I personally would not invest in the company, it’s a golden rule. If you don’t then simply don’t invest.

I have also asked myself many of those other questions before investing here as you should with any shareholding, AIM, FTSE100 or private company.

Entirely agree with you lend, and have to strongly disagree with you sid.

As lend has stated, the client base is most definitely blue chip.

Why have they taken on some more staff in the past week or so>

Why did Notion Capital agree to investing over £4m?

Why did VS say earlier in the summer that their intention was to "expand overseas"?

Why have they mentioned a possible IPO next year?

If they were rubbish then firstly they wouldn't have such an impressive list of top clients, and secondly they'd be losing some of them.

Remember again, when Notion slightly diluted LEG, Zaf wasted no time whatsoever in plugging the gap using some of our cash to bring the stake we hold back up to the original level.

Where I have to agree to a point is yes, we do need contract news, but I'm led to believe there is a big lag time between initial enquiry and the signing up of further clients.

Not only is some perspective required but also some more patience.

In any case, I've laid out my take on it all. This is the week for a positive RNS - otherwise I'll not bother with the thread - but I'll still be holding my LEG shares in readiness for the 1p party.

By the way sid, if you care to look back at the general history of LEG we've had periods of stagnation in the share price like this before. How long were we at 0.1p or below a few years back?

Think also about Bruce Rowan - still holds 8% of the entire LEG share issuen Beaufort still have a 0.7p target, and that was after the John Lewis contract.

As I say, it's not long to wait now and if an RNS doesn't come this week then I'll trust someone with some sense to run things here.

The market is littered with stocks that did noth8ng for many months, sometimes years, that went unnoticed and generally unloved by the wider investing public, then all of a sudden the blue touch paper was lit.

The same is going to happen here.

Is it? Why havnt they been rolled out across all the NHS then? Why hasn't there been a raft of new contracts? How much money are VS making?

I would have thought any shareholder, or potential shareholder, should question everything. This is the AIM market.

We need a bit of perspective here, some new contracts would of course be very welcome but do not forget that VS already has a blue chip client base most companies would only dream of, questioning the practical use of the product is rediculous.
