14/2/2017 09:42 | I'm not in the least bit nervous about anything. Just sick of reading your trolling and talking the company down with no real evidence to support your worthless drivel. Find something with substance to bring to the discussion or clear off. You have said yourself you are not invested here - so what are you doing? | 11smith

14/2/2017 07:40 | HTTP ://www.stereophile.c "It's practical to think that we would have broken the back of all the music in the world by next spring." Read more at It's now abundantly clear content is the final link. That content is due to hit by 20th March 2017. I am convinced MQA will be the streaming industry standard. The reason it will not fail is down to content. The manufactures of devices will gain sales. The record companies will gain sales The consumer will get a far better experience The artists will demand that music is only distributed in this high quality format. | pet lover
13/2/2017 22:28 | MQA what's in it for you? There's a fair amount discussion on this article and other forums I have looked at. It seems enthusiasts are interested in the new format with the amount of MQA content and streaming suppliers being the the obvious main barrier to entry. Once these are removed then things could get interesting.. | homebrewruss
13/2/2017 19:46 | Smithie....so far you have been right the price quoted about this company. It has fallen away by over 25 per cent now. Bought back some shares I had sold at 6.5 today. Volatile here which I don't mind. The cap is low but it could all be wishful thinking as you say. | barnetpeter
13/2/2017 19:26 | 11smith Ooh....someone is clearly getting nervous about his holding ! "....I ... can afford lawyers" You dont trust in Pet Lover to keep the price up ?! | smithie6
13/2/2017 15:56 | Sudden tank on some selling. It might just be those who bought earlier just taking a loss of course. The numbers are not huge albeit | barnetpeter
13/2/2017 12:44 | This is the reason LINN is so unhappy with MQA. LINN have spent years on their own format that has failed to get traction on any scale. Rethinking Digital We saw that digital music could make music sound better, not worse. It could deliver the same sound that was recorded in the studio without loss, or compression, or interference. It could bring the music from the microphone to your ear. Linn already had the perfect sound source in the form of Studio Masters, and now our Klimax DS music streamer was the first product to play those recordings in their full 24-bit, 192KHz glory. We travelled the world, demonstrating the undeniable acoustic benefits of the Klimax DS by comparing it against the world’s best CD players, including Linn’s own legendary CD12. At one such event Ivor's son Gilad, Linn's Director of Engineering at the time, was asked: "If the Klimax DS sounds so much better than CD, and if streaming digital audio is the future, then why would I buy a Linn CD player?" With trepidation, Gilad returned to his team at Linn with the obvious, yet potentially financially ruinous conclusion: Linn had to stop making CD players, and give its customers the clear and simple message: The future of digital is streaming. “ If the Klimax DS sounds so much better … why would I buy a Linn CD player? We knew we were risking our entire business, but Gilad was right, and his message resonated with our customers who were quick to embrace the new technology; within two years, sales of the Klimax DS and other new digital streamers in the flourishing family of Linn DS players had surpassed our CD player sales. And that’s not all. Just like the Sondek LP12, Linn DS players are designed not just for the technology of the day, but the technology of tomorrow. Their upgradeable software has introduced support for new formats, added new features and continues to improve the performance of the products, with those improvements made available to every single Linn owner. Linn DS didn’t just bring Studio Master quality into people’s homes. It made them fall in love with music all over again. The Relentless Pursuit of Excellence Even though Ivor has celebrated his 70th birthday, Linn will always be a huge part of his life. These days he's not involved in the day-to-day running of the company—he leaves that to Gilad and his team—but he remains the Chairman of the Board. We still make Ivor’s turntable, the Sondek LP12, along with a range of Linn DS players that improve the sound of any hi-fi system. We make beautiful, simple hi-fi systems that make anything you listen to at home sound better. And those systems are modular, upgradeable and designed for life. “ Every product bears the name of the person who made it, right here in Scotland. Every Linn product bears the name of the person who made it, right here in Scotland. They’re built by hand, not by machines; the only robots you’ll find in our purpose-built factory just outside Glasgow are serving our skilled operators. We’re proud of every product we make. We wouldn’t put our names on them otherwise. We’re not like other companies. We’re an independent family business, and that means we don’t have external shareholders forcing us to make short-term decisions. We believe in quality and longevity, not planned obsolescence. We’re driven by pride, not profit. We concentrate on delighting our customers, and on what’s driven Linn from the very beginning: the music. We’ve been making music better for more than forty years. Imagine what we’ll do in the next forty. | pet lover
13/2/2017 12:36 | MQA will sweep the board within the next 18 months. Who is in a position to hold out. ? | pet lover
13/2/2017 12:23 | Thanks pet lover, have to say I hadn't appreciated all the potential MQA sources of revenue | homebrewruss
13/2/2017 12:16 | I have posted that opinion in the header. | pet lover
13/2/2017 10:22 | I think the article proves my point that 7Dig being MQA'S B2B partner will be worth hundreds of millions V £7M today. The Article is a GEM explaing MQA'S value to 7Dig from the other side of the fence. I will buy the writer a drink 🥃🥃 | pet lover
13/2/2017 10:13 | What a good read. Fab to see all the MQA revenue streams.! The kind of way I would think if I was in his position. The big 3 have always held the power and want to keep it within the new streaming world. The MQA format is the best by a mile for streaming and the consumer. If it's rubbish it will fail. Does he want 5-10 formats and all that involves ?? No, he has lost: END OF. | pet lover
13/2/2017 09:37 | Some interesting counter arguments against MQA: bear in mind that Linn are a competitor to Meridian in the uk hifi industry so they may have an agenda but I think most of the points are valid. My main fear for MQA is that it might not gain traction vs mp3 and other formats and in 2 or 3 years times those streaming services may close down or revenues disappear. That said I don't see a downside for 7digital at this price with the various imminent and upcoming MQA related launches. | homebrewruss

10/2/2017 10:34 | Would have thought there had been a holding RNS by now. | iwillbe
10/2/2017 07:40 | That's 50 MQA products from 12 companies to date with over 100 companies in the licensing stage that will produce another 400 products. With the content from the big three record labels up and running by the spring. (March 20th.) | pet lover
09/2/2017 15:56 | It went up to 9p bid and I am sure a lot of folk here took a profit. Now back to the price most bought in.... 7p ...which is a price to buy back in. | barnetpeter
09/2/2017 14:54 | Surely a good alternative to toilet paper would be share certificates for this POS? | monte1
09/2/2017 14:41 | Try and keep to the thread subject Smithie. If you can think of an alternative to toilet paper let me know. I could find you a few good investments in the field of rail transport but I don't really want to help someone with an attitude like yours. Now, do you have a problem with me personally or is it just because I am a 7Digital shareholder and am very happy with that? Do you have something against the company? Or, are you simply one of the antisocial fools that sometimes appear on bulletin boards? ..think carefully before you reply. I can well afford lawyers. Good day. | 11smith
09/2/2017 14:28 | ...trains are still very popular & heavily used... There used to be lots of listed train & railtrack company shares...especially in the USA... where are they now ?! --- Toilet paper is also very popular & unlikely to go out of fashion ( even if alters to a wet wipe or variation) ...but it doesnt imho automatically mean that toilet paper company shares are a good investment ! (As you seem to infer) | smithie6
09/2/2017 13:33 | Food for thought - can anyone think of any other ways of listening to music that haven't already been invented? I think it will be a long time, if ever, that any new innovations come along to replace what we have already. Streaming file formats will develop perhaps but will still be delivered by wire into the home or wirelessly, smartphones etc. So for the foreseeable I am happy to be invested in 7Digital, in my opinion a success and making excellent progress. ...and just topped up heavily and relaxed. | 11smith
09/2/2017 07:10 | Streaming audio over Spotify or Pandora strips out more than 90 percent of the music’s original acoustics. So do MP3 files. But Hi-Res Audio returns much more of the original recording. The reason why I personally believe that within 2-3 years MQA will be so utterly successful. | pet lover
08/2/2017 19:16 | Nice video from Head-Fi, hadn't seen that one before. Thanks | rapier686 |
