El..I've had no problems with IG and APPL last 24hrs..all trades filled on DMA.

Got to say cracking beat by APPL..increase divi, buyback, stocksplit and new products later this year..what's not to like??

izziebon..results out after the bell today so expecting fireworks just not sure what direction..going into these results fully hedged and will take off positions once direction is known. They have had a good recently so maybe due a pull back to just under $500..wouldn't be surprised to see them smash iphone sales expectations but come short on ipad sales..interesting tonight!!

Orient;
Yes, quite handy... a lower commission doing it 'out of hours' online, was paying $25 before, on phone. Now $15
Doesnt move much though most of the time, except just after the normal close, and from about noon onwards (GMT)? Spread is wider, too.

What dya think on likely buy lowest, in next 24hrs? Chart looks like 490, but I think unlikely to go below 502. Your ideas most welcome!

they can always come up with that "synthetic" price, ping you out and retrace back to where you were - they've manged to stop me on FTSE when no market was open before now

It's not a style of investing i knew existed till this Icahn dude turned up on cnbc, and it dont seem like cricket imo :)

It's not like Apple is some mid cap company that dont matter either. it's like Americas biggest and best man. It adds % points to US GDP! Ffs.

From teh sidelines it just looks like a flip flop pirate invasion of an oil tanker or Mafia shake down to me!

:)

lol dont be naive elc :)

as a plc the sahreholders interets always come first, and as we know in a bull market all news is good news, so anything and all that spurs on shareholder value is a good thing, and in a bear market the opposite

icahn got busy once the bounce from April lows started, so technically whilst in a small bull market :P

Yer i get you Orient, but it's not in the best interests of Apple to borrow 150bn against their over seas cash and do a massive buy back or divi just cus some billionaire has bought a stake in teh company and demands it!

They may never have another hit product or one for awhile and might need that doe long term for other stuff
