To be fair, at lot of the articles and the level of accuracy are shoddy poorly researched. Often articles are flawed. I think its just lazy journalism. Many of those including Simon himself are probably doing about 3 hours work a week in return for a weeks wages. Its either that or the whole lot of them are stupid!

The IC booted me off the site for stating this fact on his online page in comments.
They tried to block ME A SUBSCRIBER.
I went to the FT who own them and they immediately instigated an investigation into ST and his column.
One of my complaints was they way he writes update articles to order for desperate punters who used to beg him in the comments section.
I notice this has been STOPPED COMPLETELY.

I'm not done with them yet, I have more in store I intend on shutting down this dodgy pump service the IC has gotten itself into.

Thing is ST has been raving about these for years now and its been bloody obvious his research and valuations here were completely flawed!I guess there are a lot of inexperienced IC readers who have been well and truly had over tho!

I get people are down and angry. It would also surprise me very much if Simon Thompson didn't make a killing off the back of his tips. But IMHO it's a sensible conclusion. One I and apparently many others had come to by ourselves well before noon. No or little growth for 2 years combined with a sketchy looking market and political trouble highly likely between now and then. I call that a warning. No point getting riled up about it. If anything an ST U-turn creates an opportunity to claw something back on a short term trade. Because up or down the moves he triggers never last.

Yes I really don’t understand why ST would do a u-turn on these. Consistently grown profits and that increase has outstripped shares issued. Trading on a very low PE. How many firms have tried to expand too fast and come a cropper? Good to see a company getting systems fully in place prior to the next phase of expansion that is only 18 months away after all. Happy to hold for the next step up.

Massive over-reaction ( I seem to be saying that a lot these) I expected a hit but >20% is too much. I expect a bounce back to 35-38 over the next few weeks

A bid target is now the most obvious thing to happen as this BoD are simply not delivering and eps has been almost flat for three years now because shares in issue has escalated with all the acquisitions even though revenue up 150%

Might it become a bid target down at these levels?

Simon Thompson has updated on OPM today moving from a BUY to a SELL recommendation. That ought to help hasten the stampede for the door.

1pm’s lowered guidance changes investment case -

...True, the investments made should help accelerate profit growth in later years - Cenkos is forecasting pre-tax profits of £9.3m and EPS of 7.3p in the 2020/21 financial year, albeit there is execution risk in delivering this, too. However, the absence of any earnings growth near-term is likely to mean that 1pm's shares will continue to be rated on a modest earnings multiple for some time yet. So, even though the board’s commitment to a progressive payout policy implies a dividend yield of 2.4 per cent for the financial year just ended, and the shares are trading on a 40 per cent discount to book value, I simply can't see a catalyst for a higher rating and am cutting my losses. Sell.

So that would be a forecast PE of 4.1 by 2022.
This is one to keep in drawer for a year or two, when it should recover.

Cenkos Broker note summary....

1pm’s pre-close confirms a positive FY19E outcome in-line with forecasts,
with revenues of £31.8m (+6% YoY) and adj PBT of £8.2m (+4%). In line
with the Group’s new strategic plan to grow the loan book to £350m
(currently £134m), investment in sales and supporting infrastructure will
be made during FY20E to accelerate growth in FY21E and beyond. We
therefore now expect profit growth to be restricted in FY20E, reflecting
this investment, before organic growth accelerates, such that we expect
revenues to surpass £40m by FY22E, with EPS climbing to 8.3p p/s.

We need some significant Director buys here and if it stays at these levels for long we become a clear takeover target.

Well I am out at a substantial loss.
Very disappointed as I've been in here for years waiting for it to come good.

As a very long term holder, this is a disappointing update. They always seem to be investing for the future without concentrating on delivering profits. I've sold down a holding I have had for 10 years and am a bit disgruntled with their constant excuses
