Volume so far today is 85k shares, so its not much. Just a very tight market with many looking forward to the numbers.

Note there is no broker forecast now.....IMO that tends to be very bad when a share is going down and very good when going up. It basically says events / trading are running way with themselves and we don't know.

Yes its going very well. Its a tiny market size. And with its market cap going bigger its getting on the radar of many that wouldn't have touched it before.

With the trading update we know the volume part, what we don't know ofcourse is the profit part. And with these financial companies they can make alot once they have a good product that sales in volume.

Merry Christmas all.

Nice move up continues. Stock shortage? Couldn't even pick up a 1,000. Surely this will continue to squeeze higher?
DYOR of course.

onwards and upwards methinks dear investor!
This company appears to have a super business model, and is exploiting a big void left by retreating high-street banks clearly unwilling to lend to SMEs as a category (just look at the doodoo RBS is presently in for being caught out rushing for the exit and choking the lifeblood of many a SME).
management have got a good steer on the rudder, and the only possible risk further down the line would be if it were to over borrow in its haste to lend to businesses. This is unlikely .
full speed ahead please.

WHI broker this morning commented :1pm plc (OPM) - BUY Market Cap: £11.4m ; Current Price: 38 p; Target Price: 48p
Pre-close trading update. A strong update this morning from 1PM showing £5m of new business written in H1 and a record £1m+ in the month of October alone. As at 30 November, the loan portfolio had risen to £17.7m, a 34% increase on one year ago, underpinning our newly-introduced FY14 forecasts this morning.
Though small, 1PM is building a track record of very decent growth and as such deserves a rating at least in line with other speciality financials. We reinstate our BUY recommendation with a new 48p price target, equating to 16x current year earnings (c. 12x FY15) and circa 0.8x year end estimated portfolio value (0.7x FY15).

Good analysis Davidosh. Agree. And as been mentioned before once the market cap starts to get to a decent level it will fuel investor interest. So a good momentum play too.

The lease portfolio is certainly growing at a cracking rate so long as the bad debt ratio stays very low then the economies of scale will work wonders here. Lease portfolio at November 30th in last four years...

2010...£9.20m
2011...£10.85m
2012...£13.20m
2013...£17.70m.

That is very steady average 27% growth with the strongest at 34% for the period just ended so an excellent growth curve too. I would expect it to be £20m at the year end in May and nearly £24m by this time next year.

If costs do not increase significantly and they can manage a £24m loan book I am sure the pbt will be rapidly heading towards £2m as there will be huge operational gearing with most of the central overhead and HQ costs fairly fixed.

Not without its risks - but PCF is in a similar space. In many ways a better book.

I see this an interesting sector to move into, and the trading statement today from 1pm looks excellent, I am struggling to establish who are the main SME lenders that 1pm compete with as I prefer to buy companies with a market cap of at least £50M. I note Begbies comment today that the number of UK corporate insolvencies for them down by 10% as the finance to SME is more benign which suggests to me that this is a good sign for SME trying to access capital and the funding availability is improving. Any replies appreciated.

Competely agree Wotreally. Sometimes investing is not that difficult really.
Given the good results I reckon they felt they needed to update the market rather than wait. Quite a quick turn around as the books only closed 11 days ago.
So great update but lets just see if anyone actually notices.

If you believe in investing, just stick your money in and watch it grow.

Solid management, real growth and will attract more attention when market capitalization gets towards £20M.

2 year view more than a double.
