Wegener Corporation (OTCQB: WGNR.PK), a leading provider of equipment for television, audio and data distribution networks worldwide, today announced the recent orders from The Christian Network, Inc. (CNI) for control and distribution equipment to re-launch The Worship Network. The orders include a subscription to CompelConnect.com™ for network control and purchases of iPump® 525 media players.

CNI will utilize file-based broadcasting techniques to distribute and broadcast Worship. Each Worship program will be sent via IP to iPump media players at affiliate locations. The programming will be seamlessly output as a virtual broadcast based on a playlist. This technique significantly reduces distribution costs as repetitive content is distributed only once to affiliates. Additionally, content can be sent in advance, in bulk data transfers.

“The Worship Network will first re-launch on Sky Angel’s IPTV platform,” Tim Rasmussen, Sr. Director of Production of CNI stated. “WEGENER’s video over IP solution addressed our need to setup and control a professional television channel at a few locations, while leaving many avenues available to grow our ministry in the future.”

The end-to-end video over IP solution combines a subscription to WEGENER’s CompelConnect.com SaaS (Software as a Service) network control with WEGENER iPump media players at each edge location. The solution offers flexibility to develop new advertising and branding opportunities with insertion of multiple, independent, overlapping graphics and text crawls over the IP video. CompelConnect.com expands on a heritage of controlling finely-targeted content distribution with robust support for high definition (HD) and standard definition (SD) video - both live and file-based. “This provides the kind of flexibility CNI has needed in terms of providing customized programming for many markets through one solution. Programming commercial and non-commercial channels with local insertion capability gives us numerous options as we rebuild our carriage,” stated Bruce Koblish, President and CEO of CNI.

“Our CompelConnect.com solution allows our customer to launch their IP video solution with a small number of sites and expand over time as their business grows,” stated Troy Woodbury, President and CEO of WEGENER. “With this IP video solution our client can develop independent, unique advertising and branding solutions for each Worship affiliate.”

The initial order was shipped during WEGENER’s third fiscal quarter of 2010.
