Wegener Corporation (OTCQB: WGNR.PK), a leading provider of equipment for television, audio and data distribution networks worldwide, today announced the receipt of an order from the BBC World Service to upgrade WEGENER equipment used to control and enhance radio broadcasts to internationally deployed WEGENER receivers and media servers. The order is valued over $480,000. The equipment will ship in WEGENER’s fourth quarter to be installed in the BBC’s new facility, November 2010.

“We are pleased to support BBC World Service with enhanced uplink monitoring and media distribution capabilities,” stated Troy Woodbury, President and CEO of Wegener Corporation.

The control and monitoring equipment includes new redundant Compel network control systems and a custom built monitoring solution. The monitoring solution will feed directly into the BBC World Service’s uplink monitoring system for improved, continuous collection of network data.

The installed Compel® system will provide the latest WEGENER hardware and software to broadcast live and file-based programming. It offers flexibility to manage, schedule, distribute and control playout of video, audio and data content. The BBC World Service uses Compel to control WEGENER Unity 4600 media receivers for live radio broadcasts and WEGENER iPump 6420 audio media servers for radio localization projects.
