Swiss bank UBS AG (UBS) Monday announced it has appointed two new heads for its global M&A advice team.
Liam Beere, the head of the bank's European M&A group, and Cary Kochman, the head of the Americas M&A, have been promoted to the new position of joint global heads of mergers and acquisitions.
Former Credit Suisse executive Kochman, who has spent 22 years working in M&A business, joined UBS in 2004 as co-head of Americas M&A and has been head of Americas M&A since 2010.
Deals he has worked on include ISCAR's sale to Berkshire Hathaway Inc (BRKA), and Flowserve Corp's (FLS) acquisition of IDP.
Beere, who joined UBS in London in 1992, has been head of Europe, Middle East and Africa M&A since 2008 and chairman of the EMEA Business Review Group since 2007.
He was the lead M&A director on a number of recent transactions including the $2.0 billion acquisition of Brixton by Segro Plc(SEGXF) and the $2.5 billion acquisition of Biffa by Montagu Private Equity.
UBS also said it has made a series of national and regional appointments in its M&A team.
Stephen Paine has been promoted to the joint head of the U.K. unit alongside Tim Waddell, while Alison Harding-Jones and Jonathan Rowley have been appointed joint heads of EMEA M&A.
In Italy, Pierpulo di Stefano and Riccardo Mulone become join heads of the Italian Investment Banking Department.
