      Security Bancorp, Inc. (“Company”) 
      (OTCBB:SCYT) today announced that its second quarter earnings for its 
      fiscal year ended December 31, 2008 contained an error. The Company 
      previously announced its earnings for the quarter ended June 30, 2008 on 
      July 30, 2008.
    
    
      The Company noted that its Consolidated Financial Highlights for the 
      quarter ended June 30, 2008 contained an error regarding its advances 
      from the Federal Home Loan Bank (“FHLB”) 
      at December 31, 2007. The Consolidated Financial Highlights stated that 
      the Company had $3.0 million in FHLB advances at December 31, 2007 
      instead of $7.0 million. No other changes were required to be made to 
      the Company’s reported earnings for the 
      quarter ended June 30, 2008.
    
    
      Security Bancorp, Inc. is the holding company for Security Federal 
      Savings Bank of McMinnville, Tennessee, a federally chartered stock 
      savings bank that conducts business from its home office and one branch 
      in McMinnville, Tennessee. At June 30, 2008, the Company had assets of 
      $139.9 million, deposits of $109.9 million and stockholders’ 
      equity of $15.4 million.
