Heritage Media Corporation (PINKSHEETS: HMCP) today announced a
corporate activities update for its digital video billboard subsidiary,
Screen Giant Media Corporation.
Established in 2003, Screen Giant is a specialty digital advertising
company engaged in the strategic placement of large, multimedia video
billboards and the subsequent management of all programming content. The
company pioneered the introduction of state-of-the-art LED video
billboards, installing its first outdoor display in 2004. Screen Giant
also provides customized services to organizers of major sporting
events, including the Calgary Stampede, FIS World Cup Ski Races and the
World Championship Bull Riding Association. These short-term rental
opportunities are a significant source of corporate revenue.
Each long-term video billboard placement requires from $150,000 to
$250,000 of corporate or partner capital to subsequently generate gross
advertising revenue of $250,000 to $450,000 per year. Site contracts are
usually ten-year agreements, with a ten-year renewal option. Screen
Giant expects this business segment to be the primary focus of its
multi-year international expansion initiatives. With a current market
penetration of less than 1%, outdoor digital video billboards are
destined for dramatic future growth.
Over $3,000,000 of private capital has been employed during Screen Giant’s
development phase. Today Screen Giant is ready to leverage its industry
experience and expertise by partnering with companies seeking to replace
existing traditional billboards with much more lucrative LED video
displays. Key global markets are being addressed. Negotiations are
currently under way with several prospective international partners
considering the installation of as many as 100 or more LED video
billboards over the next 24 months. Although growth of this magnitude
would be transformational for Screen Giant, it would still be only a
tiny fraction of potential market share.
In its home Canadian market, Screen Giant provides customized video
billboard advertising opportunities for dozens of clients, including
blue-chip organizations Coca Cola, Westjet Airlines, Warner Brothers and
Alberta Treasury Branches. These clients gain significant increased
brand exposure and message retention as a direct result of this new
digital medium. The company is working to establish a network presence
throughout Canada in order to maximize the reach and value of its
digital advertising services.
Screen Giant’s displays are always available
on a pro bono basis for community needs such as Amber Alerts, weather
warnings and searches for criminal suspects. When an emergency situation
occurs, pertinent photographs and other information can be uploaded onto
its outdoor video billboards within a few minutes of their receipt by
the company.
