LONDON, June 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

NTT Communications Corporation  (NTT Com), the ICT solutions and international communications business within the NTT Group (NYSE: NTT), announced a new five year agreement with closed life and health insurance book manager Admin Re® to provide IT managed services, hybrid cloud and data center services initially in the UK. Admin Re is part of the Swiss Re group, a leading global reinsurer in the Fortune Global 500.

Richard D'Amico, Head of IT, Admin Re said, "We are very impressed with NTT Com's commitment to leverage its depth of experience as a pure play infrastructure and cloud application services provider and customize its enterprise scale solutions to meet the demands of our customers and our continuing growth strategy."

Admin Re's IT strategy is to consolidate services from both its own data centers and those provided by existing outsourced contracts, to NTT Com's managed service model. By doing this Admin Re will improve its service quality and optimize costs.

Phased migration to cloud balances cost, security and agility

Admin Re's outsourced IT services will be migrated to NTT Com's managed private cloud service, beginning in late 2016.

This will be followed by migration of Admin Re's own data center services to NTT Com's colocation environment. NTT Com will then help move additional applications from Admin Re's legacy workloads to existing private or public clouds as well as emerging public PaaS or SaaS models. In total, over three thousand servers will be migrated.

Bob Welton, Regional Director, Northern Europe, NTT Europe said, "This partnership is a testament to NTT Com's IT as a service (ITaaS) capabilities underpinned by our strengths in global cloud, data center and network services. Using our global capabilities coupled with local engagement we are able to provide the scale and customer centric focus to ensure seamless business integration. We are addressing real world issues, such as application migration, business support, legacy workload integration and unified operations, which arise during cloud transformation. This partnership represents what every large organization must do when embracing change - find models to straddle the traditional and cloud worlds. Admin Re is on that exciting journey of change, and NTT Com will be there as a true partner to help them achieve their goals."
