Mace Security International Wins Bid to Supply Cleveland’s Department of Public Safety with Pepper Spray

Mace Security International in partnership with Cleveland Uniform Inc. wins bid to supply Cleveland Police Department with TakeDown® MK III Stream pepper spray. The contract is for one year with the two one-year options to renew.

Cleveland’s Division of Police was once led by legendary crime fighter Eliot Ness who was the director of public safety in the 1930’s. Ness abolished the then-existing system of precincts and reorganized the city into police districts, each commanded by a captain. Ness' system is still in use today. Under Ness and through today, the Cleveland Division of Police has experimented with new technologies and procedures, gaining a reputation as one of the most progressive and efficient departments in the nation.
