Isomet Announces First Quarter 2006 Results

SPRINGFIELD, Va., May 17  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Isomet Corporation (Pink Sheets: IOMT) announced today for the first quarter ended March 31, 2006 consolidated net revenue of $2,471,000, compared with $833,000 for the first quarter in 2005.  The first quarter, 2006 revenue total includes $1,500,000 from proceeds of key-man life insurance coverage, without this amount, revenue from operations was $971,000.

Including the $1,500,000 referred to above, net income in the first quarter of 2006 was $1,422,000, or $.70 per share, compared to a net loss in the first quarter of 2005 of $(194,000), or $(.10) per share.  Without the $1,500,000 non-recurring income amount, a net loss of $(78,000), or $(.04) per share was incurred in the first quarter of 2006.

Receipt of new orders for the quarters ended March 31, 2006 and 2005 was $841,000 and $1,216,000, respectively.  Unfilled orders totaled $683,000 and $915,000, respectively, as of March 31, 2006 and 2005.
