Merrill Lynch & Co. is selling up to HK$1.38 billion worth of shares in Evergrande Real Estate Group Ltd. (3333.HK), according to a term sheet seen by Dow Jones Newswires on Tuesday.
Indopark Holdings Ltd. and Merrill Lynch Asia Real Estate Opportunity Fund, both controlled by Merrill Lynch, are selling 360 million shares in a price range of HK$3.75-HK$3.83 each, the term sheet said. Merrill Lynch held 7.11% of Evergrande Real Estate Group's shares before the sale.
The price range represents a discount of 3%-5% to the company's Tuesday closing price of HK$3.95, the term sheet said. Evergrande's shares closed down 2.5% Tuesday.
Bank of America Merrill Lynch is the sole placing agent, according to the term sheet.
