EncounterCare Solutions, Inc., (Pink Sheets:ECSL) an
integrated healthcare company focused on the health information
technology, telemedicine, and homecare markets, announced today that its
wholly owned subsidiary, Building Blocks Home Pediatric Services has
launched its private label HIPAA compliant Electronic Medical Data
Exchange (EMDE) portal through CyberMedx Medical Systems LLC (a
subsidiary of ECSL). The EMDE is an automated and integrated data
management system designed to improve homecare service efficiency
through near real-time homecare medical data access. The EMDE portal
provides patient information which is accessible by licensed providers
to manage individual patients which are at home. Initially, Building
Blocks will deploy the EMDE to manage home sleep therapy studies and
wound care therapy for infants and children in the State of California.
ECSL believes that the market opportunity in the State of California
alone for Building Blocks exceeds $2.5 billion.
In announcing the agreement, Ronald Mills, Sr., President and CEO of
EncounterCare stated, “The business of
managing patient care remotely has never been so obviously needed as
with wound care. There is a very limited supply of Enterostomal
Therapists and their expertise is critical to managing wounds
successfully to obtain the optimum patient outcome. The Electronic
Medical Data Exchange allows the therapist to manage individual patients
remotely by evaluating the wound and advising field nursing staff on the
individual patient’s care. We have been very
pleased with the overall reception by both the private and public
healthcare community organizations. We have also been working on several
national agreements in wound therapy and skin care programs, and expect
to have some meaningful announcements in the near future.”
Jill Evans, Vice President and General Manager of Building Blocks
Pediatric Home Health Services stated, “Wound
care is one of the fastest growing parts of our business. There is a
tremendous need for the EMDE service and our unique way of managing the
patient remotely will help us extend the reach of our program and
services, and substantially improve the delivery of healthcare from the
care provider to the patients.”
