French chemicals company Arkema (AKE.FR) said Tuesday it plans to acquire the industrial applications specialty alcoxylate business of SEPPIC, a unit of French industrial gas company Air Liquide SA (AI.FR).
The acquisition would expand Arkema's specialty surfactant range and would focus on niche markets such as road construction, industrial detergency and the oil and gas business, the company said in a statement.
SEPPIC reported sales of EUR47 million in 2010.
