                       Scottish Radio Holdings plc (SRH)
                     Proposed acquisition of Dublin's FM104

On 24 October 2003 SRH announced that it had reached agreement to acquire the
entire issued share capital of Capital Radio Productions Limited which operates
Dublin radio station FM104, and that the transaction had been approved in
principle by the Broadcasting Commission for Ireland but was conditional on the
approval of the Republic of Ireland Competition Authority (the "Authority") and
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment.

The Authority today confirmed that having completed its preliminary assessment
of the proposed transaction it had made a determination to carry out a full
investigation under the Irish Competition Act 2002. SRH and the sellers will be
assisting the Authority fully and will seek to address any concerns arising in
the course of its investigation.
