Pioneering Technology's Patented Safe-T-element Cooking System
Is the Only Technology Available Today that Controls High End Heat on
Electric Coil Ranges
CALGARY, Dec. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ - Pioneering Technology Corp. (TSX-V: PTE; OTC BB: PTEFF), ("Pioneering"), an energy smart product innovation and consumer goods company, announced today that the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs ("CAFC"), a division of the International Association of Fire Chiefs ("IAFC"), passed a Resolution in support of tested affordable technology for electric coil ranges to drastically reduce the number of stovetop cooking fires and burned food incidents by reducing the high-end temperature at which burners operate.
Pioneering's patented Safe-T-element cooking system is the only technology available today that provides high end heat limiting capabilities for electric coiled ranges.
Chief Robert Simonds, President of the CAFC said of the resolution, "I am very pleased to work with our membership across the country in an effort to bring an end to these needless fires that put both our citizens at risk and our firefighters in harm's way."
The resolution further supports a modification of provincial, territorial and federal agency regulations to allow for new safety technology to be utilized and will promote it by whatever means necessary in an effort to reduce or eliminate stovetop cooking fires.
Pioneering was invited to make a presentation to the Canadian Council of Fire Marshals & Fire Commissioners and the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs at their annual board of directors meeting in Calgary Alberta on September 25, 2011. Pioneering's patented Safe-T-element cooking technology has a track record of success helping to prevent stove top cooking fires while also saving energy. Available on new ranges or as a retrofit, this technology is now installed on over 50,000 ranges in multi-residential housing throughout North America helping to eliminate the number one cause of household fire.
The CAFC is represented by all ten Canadian provinces and three territories. The Resolution was submitted by the CAFC Fire and Life Safety Committee and put to a vote of the membership at their annual meeting. The Resolution passed unanimously and now becomes a part of the Association's Statement of Policy book and an official component of the government relations agenda that is presented both to federal Members of Parliament and public servants in Ottawa.
The specifics of the CAFC resolution are as follows:
WHEREAS:
Cooking equipment is one of the leading causes of residential fires and
home fire injuries in Canada.
AND WHEREAS:
Unattended cooking is the leading factor contributing to cooking fires.
AND WHEREAS:
Kitchen fires due to cooking oil or grease igniting into flames cause
the fastest-spreading and most destructive type of residential fires.
AND WHEREAS:
Unattended cooking and combustibles too close to the cooking surface,
such as towels, paper products, etc. are major contributing factors to
these fires.
AND WHEREAS:
Electric ranges are the leading type of cooking equipment involved in
these fires.
AND WHEREAS:
Cooking fires are one of the leading causes of home fire injuries.
AND WHEREAS:
Education and code enforcement alone have not yielded the desired
results when it comes to eliminating cooking fires.
AND WHEREAS:
Tested affordable technology for electric coil ranges now exists to
drastically reduce the number of these fires and burned food incidents
by reducing the high-end temperature at which burners operate with no
applicable difference in cooking times or quality.
AND WHEREAS:
High-end heat regulation technology currently available can reduce the
amount of energy used by the range by as much as 50 per cent.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
That CAFC support this cooking "fire prevention" technology and further
support a modification of provincial, territorial and federal agency
regulations to allow for new fire safety technology to be utilized and
will promote it by whatever means necessary in an effort to reduce or
