RICHMOND, BC, Oct. 23, 2017 /CNW/ - Photon Control Inc. (TSX-V: PHO), a leading developer and supplier of optical measurement technologies to the global semiconductor industry, has appointed Michele Klein to its Board of Directors effective today.

Ms. Klein is an accomplished executive, investor and governance expert with deep expertise in the semiconductor capital equipment industry.  In addition to founding four technology start-ups and leading two semiconductor inspection companies from start-up to acquisition, Ms. Klein served as Senior Director of Applied Ventures (the investment arm of Applied Materials) investing in and serving on the boards of multiple portfolio companies.

Ms. Klein is currently Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Jasper Ridge Inc., a technology company developing equipment to improve human vision. Previously she was Senior Director of Applied Ventures, the venture capital arm of Applied Materials, responsible for identifying, recommending and managing venture capital investments. Ms. Klein also serves on the board of Gridtential Energy Inc. and the advisory board of Illuminate Ventures. She is a former chair of Stanford Women on Boards and holds a B Sc. from University of Illinois and an MBA from Stanford.
