KIRKLAND LAKE, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 29, 2014) - NORDEX EXPLOSIVES LTD. ("Nordex" or the "Corporation") (TSX-VENTURE:NXX) is pleased to announce the following updates on current business activities including the proposed expansion into western Canada as previously announced on March 11, 2014. This expansion will further the potential for Nordex products including the exclusive Buttbuster line of perimeter control products which are only available in North America through Nordex.

Western Canada Expansion

Nordex recently met with its proposed joint venture partners during a recent trip to the Vancouver CIM conference held from May 11-14, 2014. During these meetings, members from both parties determined a key location for an initial distribution site and identified potential locations for a manufacturing site. The distribution site location has been agreed upon and Management has initiated the approval process required to begin operations. Initially the site will provide storage facilities, sales/technical support and distribution services for products manufactured by Nordex at its Kirkland Lake facility. The Corporation has completed a logistics analysis required for the transportation of product into western Canada. The Corporation will continue its due diligence process for the acquisition of a suitable property and the development of a manufacturing facility to compliment initial distribution plans.

It is anticipated that operations will commence in the 3rd quarter 2014. Initial staff positions have been identified and qualified personnel have been retained for the launch of operations during this period.

Marketing Initiative for Nordex Products

With the attendance to the CIM conference in Vancouver, management had the opportunity to present new and existing clients with revised marketing material for all products and services. This marketing material focuses on the benefits of using Nordex products which includes increased safety, higher explosive velocity, increased efficiency of Buttbuster products, and ease of use. In addition, management has continued to introduce the proprietary Scorpion Underground Loading system, which further enhances safety for explosives customers.

This new marketing material was well received by several potential clients which includes large multi-national groups, with operations in both the mining and construction sectors.
