New Sage Energy Announces Closing of First Tranche of Private Placement

   New Sage Energy Corp. (TSX VENTURE: NSG) ("New Sage" or the "Corporation") announces that it has completed the first closing of its previously announced private placement involving the issuance of 2,100,000 units at a price of $0.05 per unit for gross proceeds of $105,000 (the "Private Placement").

Each unit (the "Unit") consisted of one common share in the capital of the Corporation (the "Common Shares") and one-half of one warrant (the "Warrant"), with each whole Warrant entitling the holder thereof to purchase one Common Share at a price of $0.10 per share for a period of 18 months from the date of closing.

The final closing of the Private Placement involving the issuance of up to an additional 9,400,000 Units is expected to close by mid August. The Corporation intends to use the proceeds from the Private Placement for new projects, acquisitions and development, as well as for general working capital and the payment of expenses related to the Private Placement.

The Common Shares and Warrants underlying the Units issued pursuant to the first closing of the Private Placement are subject to a hold period until October 26, 2010 in accordance with applicable securities law.
