Receiver Appointed for NIR Diagnostics Inc.

  Pursuant to an order (the "Order") of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on October 8, 2008, Deloitte & Touche Inc. was appointed as interim receiver and receiver and manager ("Receiver") of NIR Diagnostics Inc. (TSX VENTURE: NID) (the "Company"). The appointment of the Receiver was made at the request of a secured creditor of the Company. A copy of the Order, setting out the rights and powers of the Receiver will be filed on SEDAR at www.sedar.com. The Receiver has been advised that all of the directors of the Corporation have tendered their resignations. The Chief Executive Officer is not being employed by the Receiver. The Receiver is assessing its requirements for other members of senior management.
