Don Simmons, P.Geol., President & CEO of Northern Hemisphere Appointed to the Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of Northern Hemisphere Development Corp. (TSX
VENTURE:NHD) is pleased to welcome Don Simmons, P.Geol., to the Board, effective
May 20th, 2008.


Mr. Simmons, who has extensive experience in petroleum geology and a proven
track record of discovering oil and gas in Western Canada and internationally,
has served as Northern Hemisphere's Vice President, Exploration since 2007 and
was appointed President and CEO earlier this year. Mr. Simmons holds a BSc.
(Honours) in Geological Sciences, is a registered Professional Geologist in
Alberta, as well as a member of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists.
Don brings his earlier experience from Sebring Energy, a successful private oil
and gas company in Alberta, plus his experience with EnCana Corporation and will
be a great addition to the Board.


Northern Hemisphere is developing strong cash flow from current production, and
is continuing to concentrate on the exploration and development of the Bougie
Trutch project in northeastern BC.
