Merc International Minerals Inc. Grants Stock Options

Merc International Minerals Inc. ("Merc" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:MRK)
announces it has granted an aggregate of 500,000 options to a director of the
Company. The options are subject to disinterested shareholder approval at Merc's
next annual shareholder meeting. Each option entitles the holder to acquire one
Merc common share at an exercise price of $0.22 until February 16, 2014.
