02/06/2008 10:48pm

Marketwired Canada

Montello Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:MEO) ("Montello") is pleased to announce
the appointment of Mr. Phil Emrich as the new president of our wholly owned
private operating subsidiary Montello Resources Ltd. USA, and Mr. Peter Brown as
COO of Montello Resources Ltd. in addition to his duties as VP of
Exploration-Geology. We are also pleased to announce the new appointments of Mr.
Wes Hansen of Remote Directional Services in the new position of Consulting VP
of Drilling Operations-Domestic, and Mr. Ross Moulton as our new Consulting
Manager of Geology for the Sarcee Project-Southern Alberta.

Mr. Emrich, "Phil", is in Tennessee presently with outgoing MEO USA President
Dwayne Tyrkalo arranging for seamless transition. Mr. Tyrkalo will be available
on an on-call consulting basis to the JV Partnership going forward. Dwayne's
private Alberta business requires more of his time and given Phil was initially
recruited by Dwayne to be the Drilling Manager/Advisor for our Highpoint
Project, this is the best scenario for all parties going forward.

Prior to his work with Montello, Phil was Drilling Supervisor for ConocoPhillips
Canada Foothill & Mountain Division from September 2006 to March of 2007 while
from June 2003 to September 2006 he was with Smith Services in Abu Dhabi. Phil
spent from approx. July 1996 - June 2003 with Tesco Drilling Technology. His
duties included in no particular order: starting up the Algeria Office and
project in Hassi Massoud with local company "Sonatrac", 2 years as a Regional
Manager for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, 4 years as an "Offshore" Top
Drive Supervisor, and finally 1 year as Operations Superintendent (Electric Top
Drive Division). From 1984 to July 1996 he worked with Nabors Drilling Ltd.
Canada and Nabors Drilling Intl. While with Nabors Drilling Intl. from April
1992 - July 1996, 3 years as Rig Manager (Tool Pusher) and 6 months Driller, he
worked on a Multiple Well, long reach horizontal project for Shell and Elf in
Gabon, West Africa. His drilling experience in Canada was with directional or
horizontal wells drilling mostly deep, high pressure, sour gas wells in the
Canadian Foothills on projects for Shell and Petro-Canada.

In the winter of 2006 and spring of 2007, prior to joining us for the drilling
of the John Bowen #2 Test Well, Phil was the Drilling Supervisor on 3 wells
drilled in the Foothills as well as two Kaybob wells west of Fox Creek, Alberta.
Varying depths on these 5 wells was anywhere from 2500 metres to 4000 metres
total depth. Phil operates his personal company, Bilsar Oilfield Consulting and
has spent many years with Nabors Drilling in the Canadian Foothills (N.W.
Alberta) as well as overseas in West Africa and until last winter, he spent four
years in the Middle East specializing in down-hole fishing, whipstocks, and
remedial work in the United Arab Emirates.

Mr. Peter C. Brown is taking on the added duties of COO for Montello Resources
Ltd. and has over 28 years experience in the Oil and Gas Industry, both
internationally and domestically. He is a Structural Geologist/Basin Evaluator.
Peter has extensive knowledge at "Sarcee-Jumping Pound" and at "Pincher Creek",
both of which are well-known gas producing fields in Alberta. His initial work
at Montello has focussed solely on Tennessee reviewing all geological, drilling
and logging data recently acquired as well as other information he is sourcing
for anticipated benefit of our JV Partnership. He will now be heading up our
Sarcee and Pincher Creek Projects for example, the planned commencement of the
Sarcee recompletion of the 10,957 foot 12-13-23-4 W5M cased Mississippian/Rundle
Gas Well where Peter will consult closely with Ross Moulton and the pending
testing and evaluation of the 17 feet of interpreted pay on the John Bowen #2
well working closely with Phil Emrich.

Mr. Brown, "Peter", began his career as a Geochemist with Robertson Research and
later specialized in structural geology and basin dynamics, and has always
concentrated in creating a tangible asset base. He has worked in areas as
diverse as the North Sea and the foothills of the Andes and with such companies
as Petro Canada, Lasmo, Bow Valley Resources, Crestar and Gulf Oil. Between 1997
and 2001, Mr. Brown was the Vice President, Exploration for Crestar Energy
International, a division of Crestar Energy Inc. He is a proven oil finder as
evidenced while at Crestar where he helped them build their international asset
base from 0 to 5000 boepd in a space of 3 years and up to 50 million barrels of
reserve base. Peter has also recently been responsible for opening up a new
condensate playfairway at Pincher Creek in the southern Alberta Foothills. He
holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Aston in Birmingham, UK and a
Masters of Science from the University of London. Mr. Brown has a reputation as
a pragmatist and a problem solver.

Mr. Wes Hansen - our new Consulting VP of Drilling Operations, who is the
founder and President of Remote Directional Services, was introduced to Montello
by Phil Emrich, our new Montello USA President. Wes subsequently was responsible
for all aspects of directional drilling operations on the John Bowen #2 Well at
Highpoint and will be looking at our planned drill and completion programs at
Sarcee, Grouard and Pincher Creek.

From 2006 to 2008, Wes was VP of Operations and a Director at Canadian Integrity
Drilling Inc. He negotiated a contract for the position of project lead which
provided directional drilling expertise to Pason Systems Inc. The expertise
provided, allowed Pason Systems Inc. the opportunity to develop a directional
drilling module add-on to their existing data acquisition systems. Pason Systems
is a world leader in drilling data management. Pason Systems presently have 99%
market share in Canada and 65% in the US. From 2005 through 2006, his primary
responsibilities were as Well Site Supervisor which included safety, logistics,
environmental and financials while from 2003 - 2005 he was a Directional
Supervisor for Sperry-Sun Drilling Services in Columbia and Ecuador where the
deepest well in South America was drilled to 27,000 feet and from 1998 - 2003 he
was the New Technology Manager, for Sperry-Sun Drilling Services in Calgary
Alberta. Wes worked on leading edge drilling projects for such clients as
Bissett Resources - multi-tapered casing string for the deepest re-entry
horizontal project in North America, and other technology used by companies like
Anadarko Canada Bucking Horse River Crossing Project.

The experience from 1998 - 2006 provided him the knowledge and experience in
greater detail of the processes necessary to manage drilling oil and gas wells.
During 1993 - 1998, Wes commenced his career at Sperry Sun Drilling Services,
Canada as a Directional Drilling Supervisor and finished as a Lead Supervisor by
1998. Other positions include from 1991 - 1993 being an MWD Operator and
Directional Supervisor with Smith International, Canada and from 1979 - 1989 as
a Drilling rig driller with Adeco and Badger Drilling of Canada. Wes is a
graduate of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, (NAIT), in Edmonton
Alberta (www.remotedirectional.com).

Mr. Ross Moulton - Consulting Manager of Geology, Sarcee Project

While acting as the Geologist for Extreme Energy and subsequently Arapahoe
Energy, Ross organized the opportunity for the high impact deep drilling play on
the T'su T'ina Indian Reserve with the initial drilling of the 10,957 foot
12-13-23-4 W5M cased Mississippian/Rundle Gas Well. Bill Cawker and Dwayne
Tyrkalo worked with Ross at the commencement of the project as well as on and
off over the past 5 years.

The Company has also granted 4,275,000 incentive stock options to officers,
directors and consultants at a price of $0.10 per share with a 5 year term.
