Magnum Energy Announces New Vice President of Finance & CFO

Magnum Energy Inc. (TSX VENTURE:MEN) is pleased to announce that Shannon
Matthyssen has joined the Company as Vice-President Finance and Chief Financial
Officer.


Ms. Matthyssen received her C.A. designation in 1985 and brings over 22 years
experience in the oil and gas industry of which 16 years have been with public
companies. Most recently, Ms. Matthyssen served as Vice-President Finance & CFO
of Meridien Energy Corporation until 2005 and over the past three years has
served as a consultant for several private oil and gas companies.


Magnum Energy welcomes Shannon Matthyssen and wishes to thank Allan Thompson,
who served as interim CFO, for all of his assistance throughout the change of
officers.
