Val-d'Or, Quebec, September 24, 2013, - Knick Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: KNX) is pleased to report that after mechanical stripping to expose "Vein No. 1" seven of eight samples taken returned gold. Grab samples of the veining include 14.89 g/t, 12.58g/t, 8.52g/t, 2.39g/t, gold. Three samples returned anomalous gold, greater than 0.18g/t. The samples were analysed using the metallic sieve method and the results showed a positive gold "nugget effect" in seven of the eight samples. The "nugget effect" typified by the 14.89g/t gold assay is the combined plus and minus fraction from the metallic sieves procedure and includes for this sample: Minus 100 mesh weight of 2,975.00g, assays of 5.31g/t, 5.01g/t and 5.16g/t gold and plus 100 mesh weight of 20.38g, assay of 1,434.90g/t gold resulting in a final weighted assay of 14.89g/t gold. Visible gold was noted in the sample that ran 12.59g/t. Grab samples are selective by nature and are unlikely to be representative of the average grade of the mineralized zone.
The mechanical stripping and sampling was performed this summer on "Vein No. 1" in the Chib-Kayrand Area of the Trecesson Property to confirm historic gold results. Reported in 1944, a plan of the vein indicated 10.9g/t (0.32 oz/ton) gold over 24.4m (80.0ft) by 1.7m (5.7ft), reference GM 11428. The historic results have been affirmed by Knicks' 2013 sampling of "Vein No. 1".
Samples were sent to Expert Laboratory in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec for analysis.
Fire assay and metallic sieve methods were implemented for analysis.
Standards and blanks are submitted by Knick routinely to insure quality control.
The Chib-Kayrand Area is located in the east part of Knick's Trecesson property. The property covers most of the Trecesson Batholith which has similar characteristics to the Bourlamaque Batholith of the Val d' Or mining camp. It is located 12 km from the town of Amos and approximately 65 km north northwest of Val d' Or. The Trecesson Gold Property is traversed by paved and all weather gravel roads making it accessible year round.
