Khalkos Exploration Inc.: Appointment of a New Director and Granting of Options

The Board of Directors of KHALKOS EXPLORATION INC. ("Khalkos") (TSX VENTURE:KAS)
proceeded yesterday to the appointment of Mr. Andre Proulx as Director of
Khalkos. 


Mr. Andre Proulx has, in the last fifteen years, created, listed on the TSX
Venture Exchange and managed three public companies in the mining and oil and
gas exploration industry, namely Ressources Appalaches, Puma Exploration and
Petrolia. He is still a member of the Board of these corporations as well as
Sirios Resources Inc. 


Mr. Dominique Doucet, Chairman of the Board, stated, "We are proud to welcome
Mr. Proulx as a new Director of Khalkos, his appointment will bring a
complementary expertise to our Board." 


The Board of Directors is now composed of five Directors, three of whom are
independent: Mr. Jean-Paul Lacasse, Mr. Nicolas Cantin and Mr. Proulx, in
addition to Mr. Robert Gagnon, President and Dominique Doucet, Chairman of the
Board.


GRANT OF OPTION SHARES 

The Board of Directors has approved yesterday, in accordance with its Stock
Option Incentive Plan, the granting of 800,000 options to purchase shares to
employees, directors and officers, at an exercise price of $0.10 per share.
These options expire five years from the day of grant.
