49 North Resource Fund Grants Stock Options

The board of directors of 49 North Resource Fund Inc. (TSX VENTURE:FNR) today
approved the grant of 295,000 stock options pursuant to the company's 2008 Stock
Option Plan. 140,000 of the options were granted to directors and executive
officers with the balance granted to employees and consultants. The options are
exercisable at $2.00 per share and, if not exercised, expire April 2, 2019,
subject to earlier expiration in accordance with the Plan and applicable
policies of the TSX Venture Exchange. At the same time, options for 75,000
common shares that were originally granted in July 2008 were cancelled.
