MONTREAL, Oct. 20 /CNW/ -- SYMBOL & EXCHANGE: FGE-V MONTREAL, Oct. 20 /CNW Telbec/ - Forest Gate Energy Inc. reports that it has hired Edward L. Procyshyn to manage and supervise its mineral exploration projects. Mr. Procyshyn will be responsible for developing the exploration program for Forest Gate's 100%-owned Pershing Gold property located near Val d'Or, Quebec. Mr. Procyshyn is an Officer and qualified person for Forest Gate. Mr. Procyshyn has worked in the Val d'Or gold camp since 1997, and was involved in previous exploration programs on the Pershing gold property between 1997 and 2003. "Ed has a lot of experience on the Pershing Gold property, and has many ideas regarding its development," says Michael Judson, Forest Gate's Chief Executive Officer and President. Mr. Procyshyn graduated in 1965 from the University of Manitoba with a B.Sc. Geological Engineering degree.  He undertook his Ph.D. research studies at Queen's University, Kingston. From 1979 to 1995, Mr. Procyshyn was a Professor of Geology at Concordia University and taught courses in Field Mapping, Petrology, Structural Geology, Tectonics and Economic Geology. Mr. Procyshyn left Concordia in 1995 when the University closed its geology department and formed Le Groupe GeoInfo, a mineral exploration consulting company. Mr. Procyshyn is a registered member of the Ordre des Géologues du Quebec, pa fellow of the Geological Association of Canada and the Society of Economic Geologists, and a member of the Geological Society of America and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.   Mr. Procyshyn has been involved in structural mapping and conducted metallogenetic and exploration studies in Nunavut, British Columbia, Val d' Or and the Appalachian region of Gaspé and New Brunswick. Le Groupe GeoInfo has also been involved in the study and evaluation of gold, gold-polymetallic and molybdenum deposits in Armenia, skarn gold deposits in northern Spain, and placer diamond deposits in Russia. Additionally, Mr. Procyshyn has been involved in evaluating gold deposits in various parts of Kyrgyzstan and Siberian Russia.
