Tropical forests are disappearing at an alarming rate of 32.5 million acres per year, accounting for an estimated 17% of total annual global greenhouse gas emissions. This is having a devastating impact on people, ecosystems and wildlife throughout the world. REDD (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation), is a forest conservation program originated by the United Nations to help stop the destruction of the world's forests. It is an effective solution that is already working in pioneering projects around the world. Attendees will hear how the CODE REDD campaign can overcome the massive threat to the world's forests while making significant contributions towards mitigating climate change. Attendees at Globe are invited to visit the CODE REDD booth, unit 1004, on the Tradeshow Floor. -- CODE REDD Press Conference: Wednesday March 14, 2012 @ 12:30pm on the Presentation Stage (on the Globe Trade Show Floor) Duncan Manson, CEO of ERA, comments: "ERA has long been a supporter of GLOBE and its excellent GLOBE Series of events, so we are very pleased to contribute in a meaningful way at GLOBE 2012.
