Duncastle Appoints Victor J.E. Jones as President

Duncastle Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE:DUN)(FRANKFURT:5D3) reports that at the
company's annual general meeting, held on December 18, 2009, the following
directors were elected: Scott Hean, Victor J.E. Jones, Garth Kirkham, Derek
Page, Lawrence Page, Michael Rowley, and Douglas Warkentin.


The board of directors then appointed officers for the ensuing year as follows:
Lawrence Page, Chairman; Victor J.E. Jones, President; Mahesh Liyanage, CFO;
Michael Rowley, VP Operations; Scott Hean, VP Administration; and Arie Page,
Secretary of the company. Mssrs. Scott Hean, Douglas Warkentin and Derek Page
were appointed to the Audit Committee and also to the Nomination, Compensation
and Governance committee. The Duncastle Board wishes to acknowledge and thank
Kenneth Burgess and Donald Head for their services to the company as former
directors.


The new president, Victor J.E. Jones, brings to the company a diverse experience
in mineral exploration finance and joint venture negotiations for companies
operating in BC, Nevada, Mali, Ghana and South Africa. He has held numerous
senior executive and Board positions in public and private exploration companies
and is currently chair of a TSX.V exploration company with projects in BC and
Mali. A graduate of McGill University he has a background in venture capital and
technology as well as with listings on Toronto and London AIM exchanges. His
experience will now complement the Board and management of Duncastle to advance
its two strategic BC projects.


Duncastle is a Vancouver based company exploring for additional high-grade gold
prospects centred on the site of the former producing Yankee Girl mine near
Trail, BC. It has also assembled a large property package in north-western BC
prospective for gold and polymetallic deposits. Drilling, airborne and
geological reconnaissance programs are being planned for 2010.
