Ditem Explorations (TSX VENTURE:DIT) is pleased to announce that it has obtained 162 map designated claims covering 8910 hectares (89.1km(2)) in north-eastern Quebec along the North Shore approximately 12 km northwest of La Romaine (the Lalande property). The Lalande property is mainly underlain by calc-alkaline granitic gneisses of the Aguanish Complex and minor amphibolites and supracrustal units including arenaceous sediments, volcaniclastic rocks, migmatized aluminous gneiss. These units are cut by pink granitic intrusions and numerous pink pegmatite lenses. Rare earth mineralisation is associated with pink biotite- and monazite-rich quartz feldspar pegmatite within granitic intrusions. In 1967 and 1968, magnetic, radiometric and prospection surveys were undertaken and numerous radiometric anomalies were noted. In 1988, SOQUEM completed an exploration program with sampling and analysis and rare earth anomalous zones, including one zone with grades up to 1.4% for La, Ce and Y, were identified and reported. Ditem plans to undertake exploration work on the Lalande property in early summer. Anne-Laure Bonnet (Ph.D., Earth Sciences, INRS) has recently joined Ditem Explorations. Doctor Bonnet has 10 years of experience as a geologist and until recently worked as a geologist for AREVA in Quebec and Labrador. She has also worked as a geologist for the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC), notably on projects related to the North Shore region where the Lalande property is situated. Ditem Explorations is an exploration and development company with properties in the Athabasca Basin in Saskatchewan (Beartooth Island and Cree Lake) and the Otish Basin (Otish Uranium and Lake Henri) in Quebec. Drilling is expected on the Otish Uranium property to confirm extensions of the mineralised zone and a program on the Lake Henri rare earth property is to be undertaken shortly. Properties and general information may be viewed on the Company's website at www.ditem.com. Mr. Mario Joly (M.Sc), President of Ditem Explorations is the Qualified Person (as that term is defined in National Instrument 43-101) who has reviewed this news release and is responsible for the technical information reported herein.
