Currie Rose Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:CUI) is pleased to announce the commencement of a new phase of drilling at the Mabale Hills project in central Tanzania (see Mabale prospect map at http://currierose.com), that forms part of the Lake Victoria Joint Venture with ASX-listed Sub-Sahara Resources. The drilling program will include approximately 900 metres of Cover-Bedrock interface (CBI) drilling and 1,050 metres of Rotary Air Blast (RAB) drilling at the Sisu Prospect. The Sisu River anomaly lies on strike with the +500,000 oz Iamgold Kitongo gold deposit and it is situated about 8km to the NE of the JV Mwamazengo Discovery. Mineralization at the Sisu Prospect appears to be associated with quartz veins that cross-cut strongly sheared quartz porphyry near the margin of a large granitic intrusion. The CBI drilling is expected to reveal details of the geology and structure of soil covered bedrock that is interpreted to consist of tightly folded banded ironstone formation (BIF) and granitic intrusions. The RAB drilling will test for gold mineralization associated with artisanal workings with coincident anomalous rock-chip samples. In addition, a further 1200 metres of CBI drilling will be completed immediately to the West of the historical Mwamazengo discovery and the adjacent Simba Prospect. A program of Rotary Air Blast (RAB) and Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling at the Simba Prospect was successfully completed in June (see Press Release of June 25, 2008 at http://currierose.com/news/N080625.pdf), revealing 1-metre thick bands of low-grade gold mineralization (0.60 to 1.18 ppm). The CBI drilling will test favorable soil covered geological and structural settings, immediately West of Mwamazengo. The Mabale Hills Project is situated within an Archean granite-greenstone belt that forms part of the Tanzanian Shield. The Mabale Hills are characterised by steeply dipping, tightly folded and highly deformed banded ironstone formations (BIF's) that are interstratified with acid volcanic rocks and metasedimentary rocks. Granitoids crop out to the west and east of the folded and sheared supracrustal rocks. Gold mineralisation has been identified in quartz veins and disseminated in BIF's and cherts. Exploration by the Company has generated a number of significant drill targets including the Mwamazengo Discovery and a significant gold anomaly at Sisu River. The results of drilling will be announced over the coming weeks. ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS Harold Smith, President The Qualified person for the release of this exploration information is Michael Griffiths MAusIMM, Director of Currie Rose Resources Inc. and Managing Director of Sub-Sahara Resources NL.
