Chalk Media Corp. Announces Mailing of Meeting Materials

Chalk Media Corp. (TSX VENTURE:CKM) ("Chalk") today announced that it has mailed
to its securityholders a notice of meeting, management information circular,
letters of transmittal and related documents in connection with a special
meeting of securityholders to be held on January 27, 2009 (the "Special
Meeting") to consider the previously announced arrangement between Research In
Motion Limited ("RIM") and Chalk (the "Arrangement") whereby RIM has agreed to
acquire Chalk in an all-cash transaction for a net payment of $23,125,000
($0.142 per share assuming no shares are issued by Chalk before closing).


The transaction is to be carried out by way of a statutory plan of arrangement
and will be subject to certain conditions, including approval of 75% of the
votes cast by Chalk's securityholders at the Special Meeting as well as final
court approval. The transaction is also subject to certain other conditions as
set out in the meeting materials. The transaction is expected to close in late
January or early February 2009. Chalk obtained an interim order of the court on
December 22, 2008 in connection with the Arrangement.


Chalk's Board of Directors unanimously recommends that the securityholders of
Chalk approve the Arrangement and vote in favour of the transaction.

Chalk also announced that it will not proceed with its previously announced
short form prospectus offering of common shares due to the Arrangement.
Consequently Chalk has withdrawn the preliminary short form prospectus dated
October 17, 2008 previously filed with securities regulatory authorities in
Canada.
