This notification relates to ordinary shares of Euro0.125 in the capital of Barlo
Group plc (the "Company") and is given in fulfilment of the obligations imposed
by sections 67 to 71 and otherwise by Chapter 2 of Part IV of the Companies Act,
1990.



We write to inform you that immediately after the time when the obligation to
make this notification arose Allied Irish Bank plc ("AIB") and its subsidiaries
had a total notifiable interest ( as defined in the above mentioned sections of
the Act)in 9,525,816 shares in the capital of your company.
