Brett Resources Inc. ("Brett") (TSX VENTURE:BBR) is pleased to provide an update on assay results from the continued drilling of its Hammond Reef Project, in northwestern Ontario. Three of the better intersections in this set of assays include BR179 which ran 100.50m of 1.39 grams per tonne ("g/t") gold, BR182 which ran 114.0m of 1.33 g/t gold, and BR183 which reported 190.50m of 0.84 g/t gold. All holes completed prior to the Christmas break were reported in Brett's January 14, 2010, news release "Brett's In-Fill Drilling Continues to Intersect Significant Widths and Grades at Hammond Reef ". The number of drills at Hammond Reef has been increased to five and two more are expected before mid March. Since drilling resumed in January, more than 36 diamond drill holes have been completed. Results are available for 20 of these holes. The completed holes are part of a definition drill program that consists of both in-fill holes and holes to test the open, down dip limits of the mineralization which defines the current resource. This drill program is being undertaken in both the A-Zone and 41-Zone. In early February, once ice thickness was sufficiently built-up, Brett moved four drills onto Mitta Lake. These drills are working to complete a 50-metre spaced drill pattern that will provide more information in the sparsely drilled area between the A and 41 Zones. Lake and wet muskeg drilling is a priority for the balance of the winter program. Patrick Soares, President and CEO comments, "I am pleased that our Hammond Reef project has been ramped up with additional drills and that our new facility is able to support a multi drill program. I am also pleased that good assay results continue to confirm the continuity of the mineralization." A Zone and Mitta Lake Drilling The A Zone drilling results presented in Table 1 should be read in conjunction with Figure 1 (http://www.brettresources.com/i/maps/Nr-10-07_Fig-1.jpg), which is a plan view that shows the location of the holes. The majority of the holes were designed to better define the northeast trend of the mineralization. Two holes (BR-175 and BR-177) were completed at specific orientations to test the continuity of mineralization between cross sections. These two holes also tested for any mineralized cross structures that would not have been readily recognized based on the orientation of previous holes. These two holes have verified our belief that the Hammond Reef mineralization has good three-dimensional continuity, and further suggest our current resource model does not have any grade bias derived by any unrecognized controls. Also encouraging is the fact that new drilling has demonstrated excellent grade thickness values to the northeast, to Section 2020E, as demonstrated by holes BR-179, BR-180 and BR-183. Drilling beyond Section 2020E may continue to confirm this trend, and further drilling this winter will test this area. The balance of the holes to be reported here are from the 41 Zone with two holes (BR-170 and BR-174) testing the area between down dip portion of the 41 Zone and the RAB Zone. Very poor productivity has been obtained from the drill assigned to test the RAB Area, a new exploration trend. This drill has been replaced, and better productivity is noted with the new rig. Hole BR-170, encountered moderate alteration and gold mineralization up to 24.0 metres of 0.46 g/t Au, but potential exists to locate additional gold mineralization down dip in this hole. Hole BR 174 returned only narrow intervals of anomalous gold levels. The location of the holes in the area of the 41 Zone is illustrated on Figure 2 (http://www.brettresources.com/i/maps/Nr-10-07_Fig-2.jpg) with the summary of significant assay intervals presented below: TABLE 2. Sample preparation and analysis are conducted by ALS Chemex Laboratories with sample preparation in Thunder Bay, ON, and analyses of pulps in North Vancouver, BC, ISO/IEC guideline 17025 accredited facilities. The geologist and Qualified Person under the terms of National Instrument 43-101 responsible for the verification of work and data acquisition at Hammond Reef is John Zbeetnoff, P. Geo. Assay results used in this news release have some minor out of range control samples, as such, these control samples as well as some of their related core samples are currently undergoing analytical rerun analyses for gold at the analytical lab. The assay results for these reruns are expected within four to six weeks. It is not expected that there will be any noticeable impact on the final length weighted grade calculations. All significant grade changes will be reported in future new releases, minor changes will be posted on the website. The Qualified Person responsible for this news release under the terms of National Instrument 43-101 is Patrick Soares, P.Geo. About Brett Resources Inc.
